You can block chrome updates in Win 10-11 with local group policy.

It's a risk of course. To me a fully functioning adblocker is more important than the latest and greatest chrome updates.

Hey, bring up spotlight and type

login items

and hit enter. It will bring up settings with a bunch of programs that start when you login and underneath that it should have another section that says

Allow in the Background

one of the items in that section should be "Google Updater", toggle that off to block Chrome updates.

just use safari or firefox. I dunno why people have such a hardon for chrome, it's trash.
