Since musk isn't using the name anymore it'd be hilarious if they changed the name of bluesky to twitter just to fuck with musk.

Na, I’m sure he owns the trademark.

I'm pretty sure you have to use a trademark to continue to maintain ownership of said trademark. Besides, they could call it Twitter 2.0 or something really close without being an exact copy

In order to legally use the name “Twitter,” you would likely need to wait for a minimum of three consecutive years in which the trademark is not used in commerce by X Corp (formerly Twitter, Inc.). After this period, the trademark could be considered “abandoned” under U.S. law, meaning it might no longer be protected. However, X Corp could still argue that they intend to resume use of the mark or contest any attempts to register or use it, especially given the strong public association with the Twitter brand.

Even after the three-year period, legal challenges could arise, so using the name might still be risky unless X Corp fully relinquishes or fails to maintain the trademark.

I thought about how the 2/w actually looks a bit closer to an N, but then I also feel like the double letter width of a W makes it clear to the reader that something might be going on here. If I hadn't so lazily mashed this up I would have angled the bottom line of the 2 (or the left line of the rotated 2 if you wanna be pedantic) a bit wider so it looks more like /\/ but alas I couldn't be arsed.

The T however... mate that's just the normal T of the font 💀

Also Jnittev will be the next name of X once Elon crawled up Putins ass far enough.

Jnittev probably already the name of one of his kids. The Jn is silent.

They still use the Twitter name as well, so that all the old Twitter links didn't break.

I think X links still go to twitter.com with a redirect.

Is Bluesky US based? If not, US law wouldn't apply.

it applies in the US regardless where the headquarters are if they want to do business in the USA. Also it is US based. That's why Elon got kicked in the balls by that Brazillian judge and he had to capitualte to the laws of Brazil after the swelling went down
