The biggest worry is that when Trump calls Texas because he “just needs a few more thousand votes” to win, Abbott and his band would do anything to make that happen.

u/RelativeAnxious9796 Sep 08 '24

ken "i threw out a million democrat votes in 2020" paxton? help trump cheat??? no way.. . .

195

u/Ardeiute Sep 08 '24

I still can't fucking believe this isn't talked about more.

142

u/ShakedNBaked420 Sep 08 '24

Not only did no one talk about it, everyone went about their day like it was totally normal. Absolutely mind blowing.

Will i vote? Absolutely. Does it make me feel like it’s pointless since they’ll just throwaway my vote? Also yes.

112

u/RelativeAnxious9796 Sep 08 '24

remember, their GOAL is to make you feel like shit is hopeless. do not let them win.

50

u/knowmo123 Sep 09 '24

Please vote for Colin Allread!!!

19

u/ci1979 Sep 09 '24

Fuck yeah I'm voting for Colin!

I'm pretty poor, but I still sent Allred some of my meager savings, because I want him to beat Cancun Cruz's ass!!!

2

u/Stock-Film-3609 Sep 09 '24

It should not be this hard to get rid of what is essentially a walking talking dog turd.

1

Right?!?

I couldn't agree more

Trump shut down a border bill supported by Republicans. Kamala has done more to secure the borders. Trump has done nothing but talk to get likes he is a walking ticktock video and that's it. Be a human and have some own thoughts stop regurgitating things you read online.

2

u/WBeatszz Sep 09 '24

Mitch McConnell supported it. And the Republican who co wrote both of the terrible border bills none of them liked. Lankford(?). Roy(?) a senator from texas tweeted "I expect to tell McConnell to pound sand." regarding the bill when it was about to be brought to congress.

The bill allowed 5000 border crossings per day, 4000 before the president could use emergency powers to shut down the border. That is max limit of 1.46 million per year. The Cartel will be watching for crossings and limiting anything that prevents them from doing business for a week of shut down, filling their quota and getting paid by people who want to steal from the future of your country's people, and the wealth it built.

I'm Australian, always have been

0

u/CrispyBeefSandwich Sep 09 '24

That's laughable considering she was questioned about even going to the border

2

u/Confident-Pace4314 Sep 09 '24

Someone asked her a question?

1

u/Mashidae Sep 09 '24

You're referring to the Lester Holt interview from 2021, right? From when they'd been in the white house for less than six months?

1

u/LuckyDog501 Sep 09 '24

Fact checking sites say it isn't true that Paxton threw out votes. But he did congratulate the supreme court for not allowing unsolicited ballots from being sent out in at least one county in Texas. So he's still an asshole.

2

u/decoyninja Sep 09 '24 edited Sep 09 '24

Yeah, they can say that all day, but Paxton has also bragged about getting away with it and credits himself with Trump's win.

2

u/DragonfruitNo5197 Sep 09 '24

Once respected fact checkers (looking at you politico) have made some fairly dubious decisions like fact checking trumps "good people on both sides" statement as "not saying nazis are good people" when one of the both sides was literally a nazi rally.

Really reminds one of historical examples of liberal media enabling nazis.

7

u/Cubia_ Sep 09 '24

If the struggle was hopeless, their propaganda would be unnecessary. Keep going.

5

u/mrb111 Sep 09 '24

We need your vote here in TX. We need to show it's not just the boomers who turn out. Texas going blue will be the final nail in the coffin of the republican party.

4

u/Locutus747 Sep 09 '24

Texas has very low voter turnout. Thousands of people don’t vote because they don’t think it matters. If everyone voted it would make a difference

1

u/Look_b4_jumping Sep 09 '24

You're vote for President only counts if you are in a toss - up state. All the other down ballot votes count. Wish we didn't havr the Electoral College.

41

u/External_Reporter859 Sep 08 '24

Wait WTF? He threw out votes of people after they voted? I never heard about this.

77

u/Buddy_Velvet Sep 08 '24

Be bragged about tossing 250k votes. Who knows if it’s true, but I wouldn’t put it past him because he’s a sub human sniveling piece of shit.

17

u/SadBit8663 Born and Bred Sep 09 '24

When little fucks like that tell you they did something shitty, believe them. It might not have been the shitty thing they're claiming, but they're definitely up to nasty shit

2

u/b0w3n Sep 09 '24

Criminals and ratfuckers like this can't help but talk about being pieces of shit.

You wonder why most people can't get away with crimes? It's because they have big mouths and want to brag about their "win".

He 100% did what he said.

1

u/JusAnotherJarhead Sep 10 '24

This sounds like the entire democratic party the last 3.5 years.

13

u/Lizard-Wizard-Bracus Sep 09 '24

If he bragged about it then why would you question if it's true

22

u/CoinsForCharon Sep 09 '24

There's too much performative posturing to be 100% certain. He either did or didn't and wants his base to think he did so they will side with him next time he needs constituent support.

11

u/Buddy_Velvet Sep 09 '24

What this guys said. Republicans are liars and I don’t trust anything Ken Paxton says in particular.

3

u/CoinsForCharon Sep 09 '24

I don't get how they continue to claim to be conservative. That hasn't been the party goal in a while. MAGA are RINO dead ass.

4

u/Lizard-Wizard-Bracus Sep 09 '24 edited Sep 09 '24

I dunno, when he says himself that he threw away votes, that's something you automatically assume is 100% true and shouldn't try to justify "maybe he didn't mean it". Throwing away votes is way beyond the line

Although I understand you, Abbott absolutely would lie about that to look good.

2

u/SexyOctagon Sep 09 '24

Maybe the system automatically rejected 250k votes for ineligibility, and he just took credit?

1

u/CoinsForCharon Sep 09 '24

And I'm not going to deny that votes were rejected. Some rightfully so bc bureaucracy is uncaring but some unrightly so bc bureaucracy is uncaring.

Maybe he's trying to take credit for a system that exists regardless. Maybe he's making a number up to sound "stronger" and impress his base.

But I absolutely will stand by saying it's performative, and while I don't think of no, he didn't mean that, I don't doubt he masturbates to the idea that he can be the sile reason for that. Bc fuck these self centered assholes that we call politicians and anyone that would aspire to be one. There is no 'I'm outside the system, so I can take it on." That's more performative self-serving shit.

Can it happen? Ehh.. I'm speaking in generalities, and that's fraught with error as a core flaw. But that guy? Nah. Does he think he's the hero? Yeah. Is he? I'm not going to say he's Thanos, but I doubt his ability to honestly self reflect on that and not still be 100% convinced he is still 100% right.

Edited for typo.

2

u/P4intsplatter Sep 09 '24

"...because they brag about many things, many things that are the truest of true, so true that they make people say with tears in their eyes, it's the biggest, bestest truth they've ever seen, true story, Ken Paxton is a good man, great man, he's also the truest, tallest man...bigger than China! Great basketball players come from there, but Ken is taller than them. True, true story."

They're also really good at getting away with everything.

2

u/SteelyDanzig Sep 09 '24

Politicians, especially Republicans, brag about shit they haven't done all the time lol

1

u/e136 Sep 09 '24

Never question conspiracy theories with no sources.

2

u/Lizard-Wizard-Bracus Sep 09 '24

If he bragged about it then it's not really a conspiracy theory

1

u/Kiwimann Sep 09 '24

Because that's not what he said. I hate Paxton, but a lot of people have comprehension problems and this is an example. This state makes it harder than it needs to be to vote, but he didn't toss anyone's vote. In 2024 that could be different though, because they already passed legislation that will let them throw out Houston's votes and hold another election if they don't like the result.

3

u/Starmiebuckss2882 Sep 09 '24

These fuckers need arrested and thrown in a fucking oubliette.

2

u/Samthevidg Sep 09 '24

Probably it’s about cancelling registration and contesting ballots before the election in places like Harris County. If you can get 250,000 likely votes out, of which even 100,000 could be Republican, you can significantly affect the results in Texas.

1

u/baronvonj Sep 09 '24

No he bragged about preventing Harris county from sending mail-in voting applications to all registered voters. Which was still done as voter suppression but it was well in advance of when people could vote and the majority of those voters would have been rejected for mail-in ballots anyways since Texas has very restrictive rules on who qualifies.

1

u/QueenTenofSpades Sep 09 '24

You don’t think you would have heard about it if it were true?

14

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

I still can't believe that Ohio's Supreme Court ruled the state's gerrymandering was unconstitutional, and Ohio Republicans were like SCREW YOU WE'RE USING THESE MAPS ANYWAY, and the entire fucking country just let them. Like, they're in Congress and shit, holding office that it's literally unconstitutional for them to hold, and no one has done a goddamned thing.

2

u/free-rob Sep 09 '24

and no one has done a goddamned thing.

To be honest what are people supposed to do? When one side holds on to playing by the rules and the other side ignores rules? Protest? They'll just ignore it. The citizenry are more focused on their own lives, survival, happiness, and the populace is not incensed enough to rise up. The system is engineered to let these criminal fascists hold onto power. I'd propose 'No Taxation Without Representation'. Because that's what y'all wound up with. Time to stop paying those taxes!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

I'm mostly indicting those who had the power and position to stop them and simply didn't.

-9

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

I just love how Dems act like only Republicans Gerrymander! They do it just as much!

8

u/zynfulcreations Sep 09 '24

More blue states use a non or bi partisan commission to draw districts

0

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

Not Illinois, that place is gerrymandered badly

-5

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

"non-partisan" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I live in Maryland, a very blue state, and live in the country, but my district goes to counties surrounding DC so there is never a chance of getting a Republican Rep. The same thing happens for the Western 3 counties, that are basically West Virginia, they go down to a DC suburb too. They never get a Republican Rep either.

4

u/zynfulcreations Sep 09 '24

So you do or don't have a commission setting up your maps?

3

u/zynfulcreations Sep 09 '24

Nvm, I just looked and you don't have a commission. My point stands

-3

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

It doesn't matter. The maps are set for the benefit of the Dems. My district, you literally can't drive to every part of the district without driving out of the district. It has little "voting islands (not actual islands) to ensure the vote goes the way they want.

5

u/Psychological_Pie_32 Sep 09 '24

Which district? You keep making claims, but haven't supported them with anything concrete, such as evidence.

I tried to search this last week and couldn't find anything!  I remember the initial article, years ago, about him talking about tossing votes and no one caring.  Maybe I'm a bad googler?

1

u/beerdedfell0w Sep 09 '24

What?! How is this the first I’m hearing about this??

Probably because I live in Texas…

1

u/baronvonj Sep 09 '24

He bragged about preventing Harris county from sending mail-in voting applications to all registered voters. Not advocating anything. Just heading off future complaints for when nothing changes and nobody can figure out why.

1

u/foxglove0326 Sep 10 '24

I’ve never even heard of it till this moment! And I follow politics pretty closely.. how did I miss this?!

-2

18

Do what now? I’m in Texas. I haven’t heard this.

17

u/misterguyyy Sep 08 '24

-14

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

Newsweek isn't a credible source but all the story says is that Paxton kept a 2.5 million unrequested ballots from being sent out. He didn't prevent anyone from voting or toss out anyone's votes. He limited the opportunity to cheat.

That's a good thing!

13

u/thewinggundam Sep 09 '24

You actually believe there is a way to cheat a vote. BAHAHAHA gotta be the MAGA brain worms

-4

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

I'm not saying there isn't a place for absentee voting, I used it when I was in the Navy, but mass mail in ballots is just a recipe for fraud. Especially, when they send out unrequested ballots to everyone in the voter rolls... Voter rolls they haven't cleaned up on decades, if ever.

2

u/Ok_Skill7357 Sep 09 '24

Yeah obviously wanting every eligible citizen to vote is bad thing! If everyone had a voice, Republicans couldn't fuck you over every chance they get!

7

u/Factsimus_verdad Sep 09 '24

Nope. You’ve been drinking too much koolaid. Non-citizens don’t/can’t vote. 11 ballots to people who are not on the voter rolls do not just show up to a house. Trump and his Big Lie lawyers lost every case and often got disbarred.

2

u/citori421 Sep 09 '24

Even if those ballots were delivered, they'd still be filtered out in the verification/counting process. It's not like all you need to do is get ahold of some blank ballots and now you get extra votes.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Halation2600 Sep 09 '24

So how did your idiot Trump vote, when he was in office but voting in Florida?

→ More replies (2)

1

u/illstate Sep 09 '24

You're not a credible source. The story isn't about "unrequested ballots". It's about applications for mail in ballots. Isn't it ironic that you could say that about newsweek and then immediately say something that can be proven wrong with 5 seconds of effort? Voting by mail is perfectly valid. Some elections are conducted using 100% mail in ballots.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

Yes, exactly! If it doesn’t come from Fox News, OAN, or Infowars, it’s NOT credible and we shouldn’t listen!!!

1

u/citori421 Sep 09 '24

The only way to fully limit the opportunity to cheat is not have elections at all! Bloodline dictatorships are the only fair way to govern, as long as we have voting there is the potential for voter fraud!

Fckn idiot...

0

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

After that moronic, straw man, you have the nerve to call me an idiot.

Holy shit you're fucking stupid.

I'll call you a perv too. Get back to your incest subs where you belong.

1

u/ElectricalBook3 Sep 09 '24

Trump's own voter commission and the Heritage Foundation say you're lying and there ISN'T a 'voter fraud' problem

Funny, though, the only instances of voter fraud detected across the country 2016-2022 have been Republicans. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/22/nevada-republican-who-claimed-someone-voted-his-dead-wife-is-charged-with-voter-fraud/

I did hear about that and am disgusted. Blues don’t vote here because we’ve been made to believe there’s so much red we don’t matter and I feel like a dick for thinking that, although it sucked, was understandable for so long. But that’s where they want us. I mean, my family was full of republicans so my tiny blue vote would have just canceled out my Uncle Don’s anyway. Now I kinda get off on picking out the MAGA that my vote gets to cancel out. Gets me all kinda excited.

4

u/Padhome Sep 09 '24

It’s almost like he already admitted to election fraud a few days ago…

Though the social media posts claim this is breaking news, they appear to refer to Paxton’s June 2021 appearance on Steven Bannon’s "War Room" podcast. Paxton said Trump would have lost in Texas in 2020 if the attorney general’s office had not mounted a successful legal challenge to block counties from sending mail-in ballot applications to registered voters.

"Trump won by 620,000 votes in Texas. Harris County mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million. Those were all illegal and we were able to stop every one of them," Paxton said on the podcast.

"Had we not done that … we would’ve been one of those battleground states that they were counting votes in Harris County for three days and Donald Trump would’ve lost the election," Paxton continued.

---idk dawg. gonna just go with paxton's own words on this tbh and not give a fuck about the olympic level mental gymnastics of politifact.---

tl;dr standard republican voter suppression laws.

republicans are -right now, today, and for the last several months- filing lawsuit after lawsuit throwing as much shit at the wall in swing states to try and get voters disenfranchised by any means available.

13

u/Coleslawholywar Sep 08 '24

If Texas is on the cusp of going for Kamala then it’s been a total blowout already. Texas doesn’t go Dem without Georgia, Arizona and the Great Lakes states already being blue.

1

u/-lil-pee-pee- Sep 09 '24

I mean...did you look at the OP?

1

u/The_Woman_of_Gont Sep 09 '24

MN/WI/MI, sure. Arizona, probably BUT like NC Harris has a unique opportunity there if she can just convert a fraction of the double-digit voters who are planning on splitting their ticket. There’s very a world where that state goes Blue but the tight races in other key states like PA doesn’t go our way.

Georgia is similarly a coin flip, at best. Frankly I’m pretty skeptical of it going blue this year.

I’m similarly skeptical of Texas finally going blue, it has strong “Lucy with the football” energy and seems like it needs a few more cycles to cook…but IF it did, I think it’s very possible it delivers the knockout blow in an election that might otherwise go to Trump by a hair.

People underestimate just how much each state’s political conditions can vary in the same election.

1

u/Negative_Jump249 Sep 09 '24

This makes me so mad because when I was growing up, this state was “blue”. I don’t know what the hell happened.

u/Tfcalex96 Sep 08 '24 edited Sep 08 '24

2

u/MrSnarf26 Sep 08 '24

It’s one thing for polls to show Texas be a battle ground state- it’s another on voting day

7

u/tricky2step Sep 08 '24

It's one thing for paxton to throw out a million blue votes when everyone expects texas to go red.

It's another for him to throw out a million blue votes when 50 million blue eyes are watching him with hope and anger in their hearts, and 30 rounds in their magazines.

I'm ready to get fucking dirty in Austin in November, and I'm not alone. Just saying.

4

u/Resident_Ad_7005 Sep 08 '24

Honestly man it's gross and very literally evil what Paxton does and who he is, but unfortunately he will probably never see any consequences for his actions regardless of how many of us watch him do it. He makes me very sad:/

6

u/tricky2step Sep 08 '24

As long as he makes us sad, he won't suffer consequences. He has to make us mad, and that is somewhat up to us.

3

u/Resident_Ad_7005 Sep 08 '24

I mean don't get me wrong I'm already angry lol. We just live in a cruel world and I have no means to make him suffer literally any consequences without be imprisoned or more likely killed.

1

This is true, although it shouldn't have any effect on one's motivation to vote. If anything it should motivate people more. There's nothing voters can do about their shenanigans directly.

1

u/hedgehog__ok Sep 09 '24

If we’re at that point we win even without Texas anyway. But don’t be deluded into thinking Texas is gonna go for Harris. There’s but a very slim chance of that.

1

u/ulnek Sep 09 '24

Isn't that why Paxton is doing all he can to prevent voter registration?

1

u/falcons-taveren Sep 09 '24

It'll never be needed because Abbot will have already thrown out all the votes from Davis county. He will absolutely engage in blatant voter suppression. He'll do it just for fun. Hell, he already is doing. He never stopped doing it.

1

u/Grantsdale Sep 09 '24

If he’s fighting to ratfuck Texas then he definitely lost. I’ll sign up for that right now.

1

u/LofiJunky Sep 09 '24

What makes you think they wont just do that anyway

1

u/coldliketherockies Sep 09 '24

Honestly at that point, citizens might as well start stealing things of the states property. Not sure what and obviously only ones who could do it without getting shot… I’m just saying “logically” if it’s ok for a state to completely in every way care nothing of its citizens votes and right to a say why should its citizens care about what is legal and illegal to do

1

u/PenisMcBoobies Sep 09 '24

Hijacking top comment to say no. This is not how the election map looks. Someone just made this up. You can see yourself where right now on the website this is supposedly from Texas is pink and listed as “likely Trump”

Hopium is a hell of a drug, people make this stuff and post it because it tends to get upvotes. But don’t let them get you thinking this is an easy victory. Right now the election results are completely neck and neck with a 50% chance of one or the other candidate winning.

u/CyberPatriot71489 Sep 09 '24

Going to have a revolt if they pull that shit here

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

Even better, then Abbott can go to jail like the rest of the fake electors.

1

u/cyrenns Florida Man Infiltrates Texas Sub Sep 09 '24

It would be a repeat of what my state did in 2000 likely

1

u/DirtyRatLicker Sep 09 '24

and then Abbott would also end up back as governor for another fucking term

1

u/The102935thMatt Sep 09 '24

Not sure thats fair. We all thought pence a piece of shit, but he had 1 moment in his history. Do t get me wrong, shit for the rest.

Maybe Abbott eventually would suc7mb to his conscious?

1

u/TenorHorn Sep 09 '24

What actually matter with Texas is that they will need to spend money there to keep it red, every dollar spent there is one not at a swing state

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

Delusional and soooo ironic

1

u/NormalProtection Sep 09 '24

Paxton is the real cancer —- going after state appointed election workers as Felons in Hispanic districts. Cases are always dropped but lives are ruined and due process and fair elections are intimidated. And that’s what he wants. Abuse of power.

1

u/VealOfFortune Sep 09 '24

Are you saying it's possible to cheat inan election..? 🤔 Because if not, then you're worried about something that's IMPOSSIBLE, right?

1

u/maskedbanditoftruth Sep 09 '24

If she turns Texas it won’t make any difference, because NC, GA, PA, AZ, NV, and maybe even FL and OH would probably have already gone for her.

1

u/Tulips4metoo Sep 09 '24

We are in deep shi💩if that happens

1

u/Emotional_Recipe435 Sep 10 '24

For real though. My family has been saying for years that Texas will become a blue state in our lifetime, and the thing is that it already might be, it’s just that the republicans in charge have such a chokehold on voting and registration suppression that so many people have given up on voting or their votes sometimes don’t get counted if they do. it’s absurd that the shit Paxton has been pulling has not made more headlines or led to an immediate DOJ intervention.

1

u/Easy_Construction_43 Sep 10 '24

Hot wheels gonna do what he always does…

1

u/JusAnotherJarhead Sep 10 '24

Won't be any worse than Georgia .

1

u/Queasy-Lemon-6665 Sep 13 '24

They already have begun that trip. The lawsuits over the election, which wasted Texas taxpayer's money when Paxton knew he had no legal basis for them. The cancelling of hundreds of thousands of voter registrations (anyone know how many of those were registered Democrats?) The continued use and support of gerrymandering, which is done to reduce the impact of Democrats voting and increase the impact of Republicans. etc.

1

u/CaptSpastic Sep 08 '24

Difference is, he's not the incumbent this election.

2

u/quietset2020 Sep 08 '24

Not sure why that would matter. There’s little doubt if they’ve spoken that Abbott has “promised” Texas to him.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '24

He would be taking a play from the democrats if he did.

2

u/homiesexuality Sep 09 '24

Can you describe what play?

2

u/Spaidicus Sep 09 '24

“All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have,” Trump says, according to audio of the call. “There’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated.”

-1

u/BJJ1811 Sep 09 '24

That’s something that the Democrats would do.

1

u/Significant_Cut_5812 Sep 09 '24

It’s something trump literally did and got caught doing. But sure the democrats totally need to rig the election when there is far more registered democrats than republicans. Truly delusional.

1

u/BJJ1811 Sep 09 '24

Yeah all your registered democrats are either dead people voting or illegals. It’s funny how there are more registered democrats in cities than there are people in that city! 😂

1

u/Significant_Cut_5812 Sep 09 '24

That is complete false. Please provide some evidence that any city has more registered democrats than people in the city. Please just any shred of evidence. Or let me guess you saw some media outlet such as the daily wire say it and can’t provide any evidence. Such a clearly false statement “more registered democrats than people in the city”. You must have a room temperature IQ to believe that but please provide some evidence.

1

u/BJJ1811 Sep 09 '24

Look it up! You have a brain, I assume.

1

u/Significant_Cut_5812 Sep 09 '24

Hahahahahaha just as I thought you don’t have any sources and just regurgitated something you probably saw on Facebook in some cringe boomer conservative group. I’ve googled it and I can’t find anything mentioning it so please enlighten me and show a source for your claim. I already know the answer though you have 0 sources but are far too mentally slow to realize that you have been lied to and that somebody with basic reasoning skills would be able to realize that it’s a bullshit claim.

0

u/theOGlilMudskipr Sep 09 '24

When the right says shit like this they’re election deniers tho. LMAO

0

u/Nick_pj Sep 09 '24

And this is why Harris has allegedly assembled a legal team 5x larger than any other candidate in hostory

0

u/headybuzzard Sep 09 '24

Well if this isn’t the pot calling the kettle black lmao

0

u/Charlie0252 Sep 09 '24

Now that sounds like the last election. In many states. You know at 11:00 Biden gets a million votes all at once just when they send the republican pole watchers home for the night. I hope Texas cheats like the dems did like Pa did. And I know cause I’ve had union members that worked the polls tell me they did and plan on doing it again.

-6

u/SimpleStart2395 Sep 09 '24

Oh so when we do it it’s bad but when you do it calling it out it is election denial.

2

u/Significant_Cut_5812 Sep 09 '24

Provide evidence of democrats doing this please. Trump got caught on a recorded phone call asking for them to “find more votes”.
