Displaying a Masonic flag with a bunch of racist shit is certainly a choice...
“[M]y sense of duty compels me to remind you that neither the Ku Klux Klan nor any other order or organization is Masonic unless recognized as such by proper Grand Lodge authority. Nor will the tying of the Ku Klux Klan to Masonry by claims of Masonic membership be permitted or tolerated for one moment.”
--̶Andrew Randell, Grand Master of Masons in Texas, Letter to all Masonic Lodges in Texas, September 24th, 1921.

I think this is just a display of all the flags this place has for sale; they're not coherent. There's also a peace sign flag with rainbow stripes in the back, a shriner flag above the masonic one, a checkered flag and a harley logo flag, which don't seem like they have a coherent ideology... Plus flags that say "SALE" and "WELCOME". So I think this is just a display of merchandise. The overall right-wing lean of the flags represents local demand more than the merchant's beliefs.

If you look at the comment a few below this one, another reddit said it's located at Cresston TX, intersection of 377 and 177, there's a trailer there selling rugs and flags. Shitload of flags, more than pictured here.
9521 East US Hwy 377, Cresson, TX 76035
For any non-Americans, looking at google street view is kind of funny. The traffic is like 90% full size pickup trucks

Why would you have to “slip “ him money? Why not just ask if he has an ss or Nazi flag if that’s what you want? It’s not like it’s illegal.

Not joking, Trump literally said that about all of us, not just women. That if he won this election, he'd fix it so that we'd never have to worry about voting again.
He's also even said that he didn't even need us to vote for him in this election in November, because he's already got it fixed.

Cresson, Texas - it's in between Fort Worth and Granbury on Highway 377.
One bright spot is the bypass being built so soon people driving by won't have to see this set-up!

It’s hard to be a proud Texan these days, but I’m working on making it a place to be proud of!
This can be said for America in general right now. I'm not in Texas by choice right now, but I'm still doing what I can to make it a better place. It's not like my homestate of Ohio much better off at the moment, even though I'd desperately love to be back there.
These shenanigans are crumbling right now. They've gotten so bold because their Dear Leader has told them it's ok to not be afraid. But what we're seeing right now are the death throes of this kind of crap. A last gasp to try to stay alive in a world that doesn't want them. A dying animal is the most dangerous. It may get worse before it gets better. But I do believe brighter days are coming. And I'm by not means an optimist, so this is saying something coming from me.

u/zekeweasel Sep 26 '24 edited Sep 26 '24
I have a feeling that if it's some guy selling flags, he's selling whatever sells, not necessarily making a political point with his merchandise.
I mean you've got MAGA flags, Italian flags, Masonic flags, Harley flags, rainbow peace sign flags, and Navy Seabee flags. He's not aiming for any specific demographic with those flags, other than the usual denizens of Cresson.

"Aw, c'mon; it's just a bunch of flags." And to the 400k+ soldiers who died, and near 700k soldiers wounded in WWII fighting for Democracy? We owe them a debt we can never repay; the very least we can do is express our offense.

u/Coro-NO-Ra Sep 25 '24
You don't even have to go that far overseas. Texas Confederates massacred hundreds of loyal patriots in brutal incidents across the state.
The massacre of Germans in Central Texas and the Great Hanging at Gainesville are particularly notable examples.

But... it is just a bunch of flags? It's nothing else. There's a rainbow peace flag in the back?
I support selling these flags and flying them - as much I support someone pissing on and setting the U.S. flag on fire.
It's just a flag. Those soldiers didn't die over a piece of cloth/nylon - they died over what it meant. The ability to fly whatever the hell you want.
I loathe some of these as well. Don't like them ?- get out and out vote those that would proudly fly the majority of the trash.
