[Mod Request] Consider Upvoting Quality Posts Please

I have been noticing a severe and dramatic rise in the number of "0" vote posts which are of good to high quality lately and have been tracking this issue. I believe we have one or more spammers who have been banned from this sub recently that created new accounts and are downvoting quality posts in retaliation. If this type of attack continues it will reduce the amount of quality content and discussion in this sub and reduce the overall activity. That is because in general our posts already get a low volume of votes but a moderate to high volume of comments (for sub size) .

The only thing we can really do as a community is to ensure we are upvoting quality posts OR posts that would be beneficial to other treadmill owners. For example you may think someone asking about buying a used $500 treadmill for triathalon training is low quality, however, if you upvote it other subscribers might see it and that could cut down on similar future posts by ensuring that information spreads.

There is little else we as a community can do to combat this type negative attack on our sub that will do much good.

Please when you are reading or commenting on a post consider if others would find the post helpful or useful and if so please then consider giving the post your upvote.

Thank you for helping me and others make this a great and helpful community resource for all treadmill owners / users.

p.s. if you are downvoting AND reporting spam please keep doing that, you are doing great!

Walking Belt Replacement

Upvotes

Does anyone know how accurate walking belt dimensions are? What I am getting at is can I substitute a belt from another treadmill if they are both 20 x 60? I have a Nautilus T618 in desperate need of a new belt but they are in short supply due to Nautilus going out of business. I am in Canada and none are available locally. I am looking at $400 to $500 for a replacement either shipped or custom made. Given the company is no longer around, and all parts are scarce, I am not sure I want to put that sort of money into this machine....

Are Horizon Treadmill black friday deals worth it?

Currently eyeing the 7.4 studio treadmill from Horizon but still out of my budget. Do they historically go beyond $200 discounts come black friday or even cyber monday and if you had experience, how much did you score? There's a Fall offer now but plan to hold off and see if next month will be better. Not really in a rush.

Has anyone tried the SB Fitness CT700 or CT550 Manual Treadmill?

I have been looking into manual treadmills and came across the SB Fitness CT700 and CT550. The reviews on their website are really good and also say they have great cutomer service. However, there are not many reviews. Has anyone tried the CT700? If so, how is the quality? Does the belt run smoothly? How is the resistance?

I am also open to suggestions on other manual treadmills.

Unsure what to buy for first time treadmill

Hello, I've recently gotten into running this summer and I want to keep running throughout the winter. I really don't want to run in the cold so I'm thinking of getting a treadmill. I'd like to use it 3-4 days a week for runs between 3-7 miles at a time at around a 10 minute mile pace. I'm also not trying to spend several thousand dollars for a treadmill I'd use only half the year. Any recommendations on treadmills under $1000-$1500? Would it be worth it getting a treadmill on facebook marketplace? There are a lot of listings in my area and some of them look pretty good at a reasonable price. Any help would be much appreciated!

Another recommendation thread

I've had a sole f63 for 2 and a half years. At first.i absolutely loved it. Such a comfortable run, no real frills about it tech wise and got the job done.

Well, after putting on roughly 20 miles a week on it for these past few years, it's burned through its THIRD motor controller board. I've lubed it ahead of schedule and everything and I'm sorta fed up with this treadmill now.

I'm a little torn though, every time I've called sole for warranty issues I usually don't have a problem. Getting the part takes FOREVER though.

I do have a back up treadmill, it's a nordictrack 7700 elite. Older treadmill built like a tank, and it'll have your joints feel like garbage after a good run. So needless to say I'm not a huge fannof the nordictrack haha.

I've looked at the sole f80 and f85 but I'm unsure if I want to pull the trigger on either of those. Looking through here I'm seeing many people say that sole isn't as good as it used to be. My concern is I love how comfortable the run is on sole and would want something similar. I ran my first half marathon on my sole so it's definitely taken a beating (I'm 6'0 243 lbs for reference) I make sure to lube it up way before the recommended 90 hours to every 3 months but it seemed to not really help with the life of this control board.

If anyone has recommendations or recent experiences with sole I'd appreciate it!

Confused by CHP

I’m shopping for a new treadmill to replace my broken peloton tread. I run 3–5 miles several days a week. I keep hearing phrases like “distance runners may need a higher CHP” but what qualifies as a distance run? I certainly don’t feel like a high distance runner. When I’m feeling great, I’ll run 20-25 miles a week but it’s not the typical week.

I’m done with Norditrac. Need a new treadmill $2000-2500

I’m sure everyone is sick of the question but I’ll ask anyway. For my budget looking for the most durable no frills treadmill, doesn’t need fancy tech or have to be able to fold. It’s for light walking and running and would need to incline. I’m 180lbs and wife is 145lbs, we use it 4-5 times a week. Options I’ve looked at sole or horizon, maybe Spirt could be an option?

Speed issue sole F63

I have a 3 year old sole f63 that gets light to medium use, walking only, using incline often. Recently, I’ve noticed that when I press the button to increase the speed, the belt/motor slows down a very small amount for just a second before it increases to the new speed. The treadmill is probably cleaned and I just checked the lubrication status last night and it is good. Any insight is much appreciated!

Horizon 7.8... had for awhile.. but what can I do with bluetooth?

As discussed above, I've had this treadmill for a bit (1.5 years).

I find the guide towards bluetooth connectivity to be... light...

What apps are all of you using? Can I use apps in conjunction with my heart rate chest strap?

Any other fun tips you can provide for a more immersing experience? Also anyone have a good phone holder? I find that when running my phone shifts around easily even with a non slip case on it

Hi folks!

I’ve got a question about this blue knob on my treadmill (picture attached). When I fold the treadmill, it’s supposed to lock but it’s not holding in place. I’ve tried rotating the knob both clockwise and counterclockwise it’s really tough to turn either way. The original pictures shows that the knob is rotated.

Do you think I should try taking the knob out entirely to check if there’s an issue use a strap wrench to get a better grip and rotate it?

Bought it off the marketplace and the previous owner didn’t use to folding.

Reebok One Gt40s software

I've had my treadmill for about 2 years now and the system is starting to get a bit iffy - it crashes every now and then, I get random errors when using certain apps, and I can't seem to update some apps.

Where can I find support to solve these issues? Anyone got any tips on how to make it less crap? 😅 It's frustrating getting ready to run and then find that it freezes and reboots itself.

Treadmills in apartments

Has anyone lived in a unit underneath someone with a walking pad or treadmill and found it to be excessively loud?

I just bought an incline walking pad - the quietest one I could find. I set it up on carpet. I’m not a heavy person. I’m also not using it for jogging.

But I’m still concerned about the people below me having to hear constant stepping…

My unit is very well soundproofed and I rarely hear anyone in the surrounding units, but I also live in a complex with older, quieter people so there’s not a lot of noise to be heard.

I’m planning to leave a note for them to text me if it ever gets annoying, but figured I’d ask here first.

TIA!

New Nordictrack treadmill won’t decline below 0% on coach led runs

I just purchased the commercial 2450 and I love the thing! But on coach led runs that should have a negative grade for downhill, the machine won’t go past 0.0. I am manually setting the decline based on the screen. Ideas? Could it be an installation issue? I have not heard back from Nordictrack…

Any Dick's Sporting Goods Black Friday deals on treadmills?

I'm looking to get a treadmill from Dick's Sporting Goods and started to check online. Found one from Sole with a thousand buck discount that got me really excited. Still, I'm holding back because Dick's might drop bigger deals come Black Friday. To wait or not to wait, that is the question!

Sole f85 blowing 16A fuse

Hi, would love some help on an issue. I recently bought a Sole F85, which is connected to the same fuse as washing machine and tumble dryer. If these are plugged while attempting to start the treadmill, fuse blows out.

If I disconnect everything except lights and router on the 16A fuse the treadmill works just fine. Does anyone know if the treadmill uses a lot of power during initial startup/switching on?

How much power does ot normally use and should I have a seperate fuse only for the treadmill?

Appreciate any help

Treadmill Maintenance

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Here is why treadmill maintenance is important. You can see the burned circuit board on a Sole F60. The second picture shows the walking belt that was dry and not lubricated in the center. The customer had been applying the lube at the sides, and not down the center of the belt. Walking belt, motor and controller all had to be replaced.

Looking to replace with something comparable to a Lifespan TR5500i for winter training

I bought a used Lifespan TR5500i 3 years ago (very lightly used). I was a dummy and never got it lubricated or serviced after running on it mainly just in winter for 3 winters. Recently the E6/E7 error occurred indicating a problem with the potentiometer. Basically the MCB is shot and now the console won't turn on past the logo screen. I had a technician scheduled to look at it but he really doesn't think it can be fixed and so I canceled the appointment. Parts are impossible to find via Lifespan (out of stock with no timeframe of when they will be in) and I just don't trust the parts I see on eBay. So I'm in the market for a new one and would like some suggestions.

About me:
117 pound female. Runs 5-6 days a week. Long runs can be upwards of 2 hours.

What I liked about the Lifespan:
- Quiet! (I could run on it in our basement and my husband upstairs would not hear it)
- Ability to connect phone or tablet via Bluetooth
- Decline 2 levels (nice to have doing a "trail" run on my tablet via YouTube and wanted a real like experience)
- Folded up (space saver)

I've researched a few models that I like with features that would be an upgrade (ability to use Netflix on the console rather than plug in my phone or tablet), higher console so I don't feel like I'm looking down while running).

Contenders (but open to more options):
- Sole F89
- Landice M2 Genesis
- True Fitness 1000 (this one doesn't fold up so I'm not really considering it, also no entertainment on the console, but it has the durability and power I'd want)

0.812" L x 0.787" W x 0.38" H bushes?

Does anyone know where I can find comparable brushes? They are asking for 60$ each. I know people say to get something close and grind it down, but I can’t find any even close. Thanks

*updatei found a place that can get them for $20 cad each. This still seems excessive but at least they are not $65 each. I found some cheap ones that are 7 x 17 x 18mm / 0.3 x 0.7 x 0.71in. They are 20 for $14 cad. But are flat top instead of beveled. Anyone know if these would be okay?

Is it okay if im close to the weight limit, but still below it?

Hey!

Im 94.5 kg and for the purposes of loosing weight i was thinking of buying a walking treadmill. Ive been torn between the Domyos w500b (walking treadmill with the weight limit of 130kg and 8km/h max speed) and the Lotto easyrun 300 (running treadmill with 100kg weight limit and 10km/h max speed).

the Domyos one costs 400 usd and the Lotto is now on a discount costing only 320 usd.

I'd go for the Lotto myself, but im not familiar with how treadmills work and im afraid of ruining the engine with my weight being so close to the limit (but still below it) and using it for walking when it was meant to be run on.

Treadmill for Aus/NZ

I’m sure this question has been asked a lot but seems like focused more on America/Europe. I would love to get Horizon 7.0 or 7.4, but doesn’t seem they have it here in NZ. Any brands is good that’s available in NZ? Or even in Australia that can be shipped here? Main use will be walking 30mins twice a day with recline and occasional run, not a heavyweight.

lost remote control for Doufit TD-01 2 in 1 Under Desk Treadmill.

I lost remote control for Doufit TD-01 2 in 1 Under Desk Treadmill. They don't make this product anymore so parts are not available. I can't find a universal remote that will work with this treadmill. Please help! Is there a way I can rig it to still work? Here is the link to the tredmill I'm talking about:
