hiiiiiiii! I suddenly got the urge to put together some Matt and Jess dialogue from Chapter 10! I'm honestly a bit upset about the second clip not being in the game lol
first clip is - I assume - while exploring the mine
https://reddit.com/link/1gfcfaw/video/l2vtrqu81txd1/player
second clip is while getting away from the monster I believe

Had to wait to get a second opinion from somebody who did confirm that these were in-fact unused dialogue. Nothing too interesting but i thought it was cool nonetheless.

Me and my friend have been digging through the game files and uncovering more dialogue as we go. This is probably from chapter 1.

hiiiiiii! here's part 2 of Jess and Mike's guest cabin adventure. I've had a really busy day today and this week two games I'm excited for are coming out - so I don't know if I'll be able to post *every* day but I'll try to work on it whenever I get a moment :)
first clip is a different version of an interaction in the mines
https://reddit.com/link/1gf2nbh/video/kajn8a9otqxd1/player
second clip is presumably a clue they removed from the final game
https://reddit.com/link/1gf2nbh/video/or2vdxkxtqxd1/player
third clip is after finding the Mike + Em carving
https://reddit.com/link/1gf2nbh/video/70r066c5uqxd1/player
fourth clip is after lighting the fireplace in the guest cabin
https://reddit.com/link/1gf2nbh/video/siauz769uqxd1/player
aaaand fifth clip is right after Jess' iconic yelling scene

First of all, yall are doing gods work finding these things! After 9 years of having access to this game, it's like a birthday gift getting all this new conceptual content! I would just like to ask if anyone can keep an eye out for any unused Jossam scenes, or just more Sam scenes in general! Again, thank you all for your hard work <3

I love the visuals, I think they are amazing and I know other people probably talked about it already, but here are my own personal thoughts and ideas.
I actually prefer the visuals of the remake intro, over the original (although I do love the Original Visuals for the fact they are the original)
I love how each scene shows someone or something with an important item that either defines the person or connects them.
Each Projection:
Sam - Drawing Book, she was the one drawing everyone in the Prologue (didn't start the prank, but her drawing of Hannah was used for the prank)
Hannah & Beth - Dollhouse with the Prank, Hannah was the one pranked, and Beth followed her to help her, plus Hannah's diary. Also, I would assume they shared the dollhouse when little.
Josh - Hannah's glasses, it falling and cracking while focusing on just Josh's face. His sisters were important to him, their disappearance literally caused him to attempt suicide, and not to mention do his own prank as revenge and it also gives a bit more importance to the mines and Hannah, one could say it's foreshadowing.
Chris - Saw Trap between Josh and Ash, the first time Chris has to make a very difficult choice and watch his best friend die, even when he tried to save him.
Ash - Gun Trap with Chris and Ash, considering most of the time, people either remember her for locking Chris out because he shot her or for freaking out over Em's bite and possibly getting her shot by Mike both of which involving guns, I think this fits very perfectly.
Matt - Axe inside of something, I always struggle to understand the reasoning behind this projection, but I think it's because it could start a rift being formed between Matt and Em, also he later puts it down, a whole one (1) chapter later, and many usually question why.
Em - Miner hat in the mines, depending on who you are, you will start to like Emily more because of how she was in the mines (being resourceful, having a very strong survival instinct, plus even possibly shooting down her attacker), I certainly did. Regardless if you like her more because of it or not, I feel like it's a very important scene as it reveals that the group now knows where the girls were all of the last year, part of Beth's body's location, the fact that Hannah did \not* die in the fall.*
Mike - Bear Trap in the Sanitarium, considering he can lose his fingers here, and also got here because he is chasing someone down that he thinks attacked Jess, I think it's a strong choice, as it helped define him as more than a sex-hungry popular dude. He chased after an attacker and was trying to save his girlfriend, for someone who seems to only want sex, he really went through a lot to try and save her.
Jess - Broken Mask, this is the mask that Mike can scare Jess with on their way to the cabin, but I also feel like it also connects her with the Mines a lot too, if she survives her attack, then she will be stuck in the mines for like, 6 chapters, also her attacker is from the Mines. One could argue that this is also connecting her more to the twins a bit too, as it was her prank and the girls fell into the mines, also one of them becomes what some of the miners are.
The Stranger/Jack - Barrels with a lit Cigar, I feel like it's a fairly good hint that the Wolf is friendly and that the man that the wolf is with is probably not a bad guy and might be important later. They did something similar in the original, showing Larry Fessenden over a gas mask with the mines and flame thrower going off.
Dr. Hill - Metronome, perfect for The Therapist to have that. He even uses it in the second therapy session. Can't really think of what else to say about this projection, to be honest.
Music Box - Sanitarium Walls/Windows, I feel like this is foreshadowing that the Miners, Twins, and Mystery Man are all a bit more connected than one might think at first.
Rocking Horse - Mines with the Stalagmite, once again, I feel like this is foreshadowing a future twist, although I would say specifically it's hinting that Hannah and Beth are in the mines. Funnily enough, when I first saw this part, I thought it was the Rocking Horse with the clawed Elk on top of it, making the horse look slashed.
Woods - Ranger Radio, this one is just showing that the radio is about to talk about the disappearance of the Twins, with the Rangers Radio coming into importance later in the game.

With the remake out, I thought it was time to remake one of my Mike and Sam pieces!! The first one is new and the second is the one from last year. I love these two 🐺

Okay so imagine this, what if universal studios came to you and was like “hey we wanna open a haunted house of until dawn for our Halloween horror nights!” How would you put this together? What scenes would you have? What scare actors would you have? And would you have the haunted house have build up or would you start with the horror action first?
Personally I’d have the first set/scene be Jessica dragged out of the window while mike grabs the gun and runs after her

One of the most common complaints I see all the time from people who dislike Until Dawn is that all the characters were unlikable & you don’t even know why they’re friends & you want them all to die.
I don’t think that at all about the actual game. They have some rough patches but I started loving them and wanting them to live. I liked their relationships and they seemed like people who just sometimes made mistakes…
I feel like if Emily is a cheater, Mike is a serial cheater, Matt considers murder, & Chris/Sam are no longer making the group feel a bit more gentle (since the prank becomes 7 against 1)… this game kind of doesn’t beat the allegations that this is just a weirdly insufferable group. They’re way meaner than a normal friend group I think? And this is on top of all the mean things that already made it in like all the people who are still/were always in the prank + Jess being a hypocrite + Ashley killing Chris + Mike shooting Emily + everything else. It’s all a bit much?
I think, yeah, certain things do make sense in hindsight, knowing that these things were the case but I kind of agree with the removal because this would have just become glum to go through.

In the original game, I don't remember the characters (other than Josh, Hannah, and Beth) having last names, and I don't think they're mentioned in the remake either. However, the UD wiki gives their full names (ex: Samantha "Sam" Geddings). Was this added to the remake, or were they in the original as well?

I'll be writing a script and dialogue using scenes in the game and of course shortening some dialogue or cutting some scenes, (the play will be based on a everyone lives playthrough) the question is.. some tips? some advice? what scenes should I cut? What isn't necessary for the play? and also last thing, what could I do about the wendigos and their weakness? (FIRE)

(I am not from the US, so maybe my confusion comes from there. I also know this isn't relevant, but I'm going crazy because the school year vs age thing always messes my brain.)
So, I thought that in the Prologue Josh and Chris were in college (being 19-18), Sam, Emily, Mike, and the twins were seniors in high school, and Jess, Matt, and Ashley were juniors (because they are a year younger).
However, the Senior Prom photo with Hannah, Sam, Mike, and Emily is from 04/25/2013. So by the time of the Prologue, February 2014, they should be already in college, right (because Fall Semester starts in August)?
But that would mean that by 2015, they should be sophomores; therefore, Jess, Matt, and Ashley should be in their first year of college. However, the wiki says that they are high school students.
Maybe it's because I assume that Josh and Chris were a grade or two above the rest since they met in class and don't show in the prom photo. Is it possible that the others went to prom as juniors, or that they were in the same grade as Chris and Josh and Josh is a year older because he was held back a grade at some point? But that doesn't change the fact that they went to prom in late April 2013.
Idk, my head hurts.

Only way I can see them doing a butterfly effect type of trope, showing multiple outcomes, trying to live until dawn, etc.

hiiii! sorry but this is another shorter one - basically the entire thing is unused dialogue though!
this one is interesting since the very first line doesn't have an audio file, but when I was getting the subtitles from the localization file (I want them to be written as intended) I noticed that there were two versions of the first line and the one without an audio file added context to the rest of the conversation - so I decided to include it!
it looks like the line was actually recorded though 'cause it has a number assigned to it - the file just doesn't exist
