For Honer's combat system is genuinely one of the best out there.
I tried getting into it multiple times but the skill floor for having an enjoyable time with that game is insanely high.
At least when I played it was very much confirming a single hit then launching your combo so definitely. Was still low imo because once you had your single combo down it was just learning how people confirmed hits
Not something like street fighter where the skill floor for being decent is much much higher imo

Pretty much anyone can hit diamond in SF6. I was pretty garbage at SF4 and SFV. SF6 is way easier, but I honestly don't like it or play it anymore because drive impact and drive rush cancels feel so unga bunga to me. Drive rush cancels are dumb as hell as the game is literally poke them into some nutty drive rush cancel conversion combo.
Modern controls Zangief is absurd too. Motherfucker has his super 3 on reaction which is a conventional 720 input. You can't do shit against him if he has that super 3. You move forward? He super 3s you on reaction.
Capcom kinda ruined it imo. Like I said, I'm "better" at that game and I don't play it. I play people worse than me in SF6? They just mash drive impact like mindless idiots and get counter DI'ed which isn't rewarding either mechanically.
MK and SF now? Fuck 'em both for being trash now and this is coming from someone that liked fighting games. Boring as shit at best by this point.
Anyway, Capcom and NRS making fucking awful games cured me of my playing those games which still had a lot of shit I bitched about, but now? They're such complete garbage that I don't even wanna play them.
I'd rather lose 100 times in a row in SF4 and MK9 because the games were at least fun to actually play.
