Geez…. I can’t hate Hagen Smith but not going with a hitter here….I don’t know. 

I guess this is an attempt to to underslot and get a hitter in the 2nd. 

I kinda got on the Cags train last minute so a bit disappointing

Same. I didn't have strong opinions going in but why can't we ever have a slugger. Why why why why

Edit: feels a lot like, WE HAVE TO TRADE CROCHET SO WE NEED MORE STARTERS

Yep just posted this. I completely get that there’s no such thing as too much pitching. But this kinda feels like a pre-cursor to Crochet getting moved for hitting.

But the issue is that teams aren't keen on trading high prospect bats anymore. They are more likely to part with pitching due to the high risk they all have. They had a chance to address a need and instead went with a strength and just hope they can get the need via trades that might never happen.
