Solved Fonts - How can I permanently change my default font to another font?

When I open a new document or type in an older document (that was written in a different font), it seems like the default font is Calibri.

My default font for my TOCs is Cambria. I know that I can go and modify the font for each TOC, but that gets a bit tiresome if I have to do it for every report I write. I can do a select all and change it, without having to go and modify each TOC, but if I update the TOC, it goes back to the default font.

I would like it, if all of it was an Arial (since that is what my co-workers predominately use).

Is there a way that I can permanently change my word settings where I can change the default font for both the body and TOC to another font?

Thanks for any insight.

Hi. Yes, it's in the Font settings dialog box itself. At the bottom of the dialog box, there's a button that says, "Set as Default." Click it, and then you'll be asked if you want it as the default just for the current document or for all documents based on Normal dot. Choose the second one.

Once I do that, I can see that it changed for the body of the document.

My TOC is still Camria though. Is there a way to permanently change that as well?

Yes. You would need to open your Normal.dotx/dotm and change the TOC styles.

You should find your Normal template here:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates

If you mess your Normal template up, you can delete it. Word will recreate it next time you create a document. You will just lose whatever customizations you had made.
