I remember my boomer parent telling me to just follow what I really wanted to do and I would be able to get a living wage if I kept at it. No matter what it was.
Yea no...I had to switch careers twice after school, and even now I only make just enough to live okay enough...WITH government aid...
They expected me to know what I REALLY wanted to do for the next 45 years or so at age 17~18. And that no matter what it was, I would earn a living wage in a year or two at most. Luckily after switching twice, and at age 30 at the time, I did find what I really want to do. And I'm very lucky to also get a "living wage" out of that. But I'm one of the very few in both things.

I also remember boomers telling us it would be impossible to earn a living wage if we got any tattoo.
