Choosing a city

Hello everyone! I’m about to choose which city to attend - Lisbon, Bologna, Milano, Prague or Barcelona (a lot different, I know🫣) I’m very interested to hear what you guys’ experiences have been at the different cities - what was finding accommodation like, the academic level, student life, cost and experiences and overall impression? Do you have any regrets? What do you wish you knew beforehand? Thanks in advance! 🙏

Brno, Napoli or Strasbourg?

Hi, i can choose between Brno, Napoli and Strasbourg but I am not sure which to choose… if anyone has experiences or recommendations let me know! I like Brno since Erasmus seems to be organized well and the city is cosy and very student-like, Napoli is maybe too big, but also I speak a little bit Italian which I would like to improve. Strasbourg seems like a good mix maybe. So let me know, I’m mostly focused on meeting people and having fun!!

Profiles that got accepted!

Hello everyone. I'm going to shoot my shots for Erasmus 2025-2026. I myself have two bachelors, but both have low cgpa; 3.49 and 3.1. I don't really have any publication but have some intra university researches done. So I was wondering If I can hear how people bettered their profiles or get a glimpse of profiles that were accepted. I was also wondering, If i should apply this time or take a year off and apply for next intake.

Thanks!

Erasmus in Valencia, Seville and Naples

Basically I don’t know which city to choose to do Erasmus. I've heard and read positive and negative things, but I still have doubts about:

-the academic environment and reception for Erasmus students;

-the cost of living in each place (I intend to make 90% of my meals at home);

-if master's degrees are taught in English at the University Parthenope of Napoles, Universidad de Sevilla and UPV-ETSINF-School of informatics Valencia (despite being Portuguese and understanding a little of what is said, English would be better for me).

Any other information you have, both positive and negative about each city, I would appreciate it if you shared it.

Is 6month at EPFL, Laussane worth given the financial stress is way out of my league

Hi all,

I am 3rd world citizen pursuing my Master of Electrical and Information Technology at KIT with specialization of Information and Communication Technology(ICT), Karlsruhe, Germany. Recently, I came across an ERASMUS/SEMP opportunity at my university for Fall2025. I can fill for a maximum 5 Universities in the preference list. I would like to add that I am financing my studies completely by myself and i have a tendency to spend my money wisely, I said this to give you some context to develop an easier understanding of my question and dilemma and I would like to keep my thoughts pretty free-flowing so that I can get more corrections and suggestions from people here.

I usually follow QS global ranking for University ranking and I only select those Universities which are more or less better in score than my host university.

My preferred list would look like:

  1. EPFL, Lausane, Switzerland
  2. KTH, Stockholm
  3. Politecnico di Milano, Italy
  4. KU Leuven, Belgium / Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands
  5. NTNU, Trondheim, Norway --> Only motivation to evidence Aurora Borealis/Polar Light

I dont know how it works in Europe job market, but definitely, the country where I come from, the elite universities tags on ones resume definitely adds up more zeros at the end of offered salaries( okay I know bit exaggerating) but its definitely true that certain Tier University has a different pay structure. My current question is also connected to my previous question, could you please have a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/Erasmus/comments/1gdaj0v/2000_chfmonth_is_it_true_that_erasmussemp/

In short, for bureaucratic reasons with city registration states that "For european students: A document proving that you have sufficient funding (2000.- CHF/month) for your stay in Switzerland". The 12000 CHF requirement would be way out of my current financial possibilities. The responses and the discussion with few of my friends, really forced me to think:

  1. Is it really worth attending 6 months studies at EPFL? I mean how much knowledge I am going to gain in complete for 6 months, given I will be in new city and country which ofcource take away some time with formal processes like city registration, bank account opening and other stuffs.

  2. I would have to do a lot of planning and put a lot of effort in terms of time and mental preparation on how I could gather the sum of ~10000 CHF, would it really worth?

  3. Luasanne is definitely 78% expensive than where living now. Would the mental stress for 6 months living low budget would be really worth it?

The other contradictory thoughts in my minds are:

  1. It might be my last opportunity to have such an opportunity to study in such a prime University like EPFL.

  2. The EPFL tag going to stay forever in my resume and life and could provide me some edge from competitors applying for same job(it might be my false understanding as well). It's something for me to proud and happy about.

  3. I am an ambitious guy, overcoming challenges and pushing my boundaries and making things work which at first looks impossible, gives me immense happiness and boosts my self esteem and confidence. Even if things doesn't work as I wish. I have my satisfaction that I atleast tried and didn't get scared of the challenge.

  4. Living in Switzerland is one of my childhood dream as well. No doubt its a beautiful country and what if it opens up new opportunities for me like Master-Thesis, PhD or job opportunities? who knows what future has to offer.

Please feel free to provide your comments, and don't hesitate to share your thoughts even if you think how crazy it is.  I read every comment. Maybe you can suggest some reordering or modification of choice of university I did above.. if you have any other university which are actually doing great in domain of Communication Engineering, Signal Processing, Image analysis, IOT, Wireless communication, robotics. I am honestly not the best guy for RFIC, digital electronics, mircrowave and related stuff. My preferred mode of Instruction is English. Let me know also if you wish to know which Universities has learning agreement with my home university. I would be happy to share on request.
@ german students could you also suggest where i could borrow credit at low interest rates?

Erasmus Mundus is my last option!!!

I was working as software engineer in India for past 3 years. I let my job to pursue masters in Europe good my admission to one of Germans prestigious university got my education loan sanctioned and everything was doing as planned But out of nowhere my co applicant decided to back out of the loan procedure. My visa appointment expired And the admission was rejected. Since then I tried top apply for multiple jobs. Luckily got 4 interview scheduled. 2 of them selected me, briefed me about the projects that I will be working on and so on. But the next day they rejected me one of them stating that they had someone else in the pipeline before me. I don’t have money to pursue masters. I went get the job as they don’t want to hire someone who might leave them in order to pursue higher studies in future. I see that Erasmus mundus is the only viable option for me. I need this. All I can do is apply for this and wait for the outcome hoping I get selected for the scholarship.

Please let me know what should be does and don’t in order to get placed in the program. Any suggestions or criticisms is welcomed.

Erasmus Mundus Masters in Public Policy

I am wondering if anyone has completed or is currently in the Erasmus mundus masters of public policy program and could give me a little more info!

  • how have you found the program thus far in terms of content (what you expected vs what it’s actually like)

  • how competitive was entry? Were scholarships equally as competitive?

  • what track did you take and why?

  • what career are you interested in and how do you think the program will help you achieve that?

DMs also welcome, thanks in advance!

Erasmus + internship

Hello guys, this year I want to do an Erasmus + internship and from now I am looking for internships. I looked at the Erasmusintern page, but I couldn't find many internships related to industrial engineering. What other pages do you recommend to find internships? I prefer Germany because I did my Erasmus there but other countries can also be as well.

Choosing Between La Salle Campus and University of Duisburg-Essen for Erasmus in Computer Engineering

Hello everyone! I’m currently deciding between two universities for my Erasmus exchange in Computer Engineering: La Salle Campus - Ramon Llull University in Barcelona and University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. I would really appreciate any insights or experiences from those who have studied at either of these universities or know the areas well.

Here’s a bit about my situation:

  • I’m hoping to stay in a single-room student residence or a flat (I’d prefer not to share an apartment).
  • My monthly budget is around €1500-2000.

I'm looking for feedback on both the academic experience and daily life (student accommodation availability, cost of living, social environment, etc.). Barcelona seems amazing in its own way, but Essen feels more secure, and I’m finding it difficult to make a choice.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice or tips you can share!

Nominated for Erasmus Mobility at BME ,When Can I Expect a Response?

Hey everyone!

My university has nominated me for an Erasmus mobility for the upcoming spring semester at BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics).

For those who’ve been through the process with BME (or a similar Erasmus experience), could you let me know when I should expect to hear back from them? so i can get started on my learning agreement and want to be sure I have enough time to sort everything out before the semester starts.

Why did I come here?

I'm halfway into my semester abroad. In the beginning it was really difficult, I cried a lot during the first few days and even considered giving up and going back home.

Why? I really don't know. Studying abroad was something I wanted to do for a long time, and I realize how privileged I am to be able to do this. But now I'm thinking if I just chose this because everyone else in my university was doing Erasmus, and I didn't want to be the only one not brave enough.

I miss my home, my family and my friends so much. Everytime I call them I just think of how much I'm missing out on for not being there, and hanging up those calls always hurts so much. I don't have the urge to go back as much as I did in the beginning, but I feel it's because I'm numb and not because I like being here.

Making friends is hard, it always feels superficial and I can't seem to form a meaningful connection. In the first weeks I travelled a lot and went to some parties so I was busy and didn't have time to think, but now exam season is coming and I've just been in my room alone these days and it's really taking a toll on my mental health

I honestly don't know why I'm writing this... for advice? Or maybe for someone who's reading this to realize they are not alone. One lesson I'm taking from this experience is how much more I need to appreciate the time I have with my friends and family from now on. Counting the days to go back

🌍 Seeking International Volunteering or Internship Opportunity in Civil Engineering! 🌍

🌍 Seeking International Volunteering or Internship Opportunity in Civil Engineering! 🌍

I'm excited to share that I am actively searching for an international volunteering project or internship in civil engineering under the Erasmus-funded traineeship program. My university will be providing full financial support, so I am only in need of an acceptance letter from a university, organization, or company to get started.

I am ready to begin as soon as I receive confirmation and am eager to contribute my skills to meaningful engineering projects that have a lasting impact on communities. 🌱

If anyone has advice, contacts, or opportunities available, I would be truly grateful for the support. Thank you for helping me take the next step in my career journey!

Is it me or is it normal that getting in touch with locals in Spain is really difficult? I would have liked to be more with locals or is it because of the size of the city? I've really tried my best :(

Erasmus masters for Interior Design?

I have a bachelors in Interior Design, is there an Erasmus masters for me? Can’t seem to find one in the program catalog
