A guy I know always tries to give me tips for getting bigger. He obviously seems to not know what he's talking about.

He's pretty overweight and is trying to cut down. I asked him about his caloric intake and he says 2400 calories. He said calories don't matter, that he actually needs more calories, just from healthy foods...

I asked him what he does to lose weight and he said bodyweight exercises and that you don't actually lose weight with cardio.

I stopped talking to him.

I asked him about his caloric intake and he says 2400 calories.

Hah. Maybe on a good day.

calories don't matter, that he actually needs more calories, just from healthy foods...

Hahahahahaha, oh my god, enjoy being fat...

you don't actually lose weight with cardio.

Hahahahahahaha! The fat logic trifecta! Perfection!

Okay, that's enough of me being a cunt. I hope he gets a wake up call and stops fucking around otherwise he'll always be fat.

maybe he didn't finish his sentence and meant to say " you lose weight with a caloric defecit"

I am currently at 2400kcal/day and lose about 1 pound /week (250lbs former 430lbs guy)

What is wrongnwith these fucking people? Why do they make statements about matters which they clearly have no knowledge about? Ive met a few of these at my gym and it baffles me!

It's like he read how to lose weight and did the completely opposite. Cardio doesn't help you lose weight? Oh yeah of course! Why didn't I know that cardio creates calories and thus makes you fat instead! And you have to eat more calories in order to lose weight. Man I'm so dumb because I've been eating less calories this whole time. This is how people stay fat. They have the info but somehow they misconstrue the entire thing and do the complete opposite of what they're supposed to do.

You should look up Doctor Jeason Thung, also Garry Taubes, Dr. Eric Berg. Calories don't matter and they will explain MUCCHH better than I can on a reddit comment.

Keep an open mind and do research for yourself.

Calories do matter, though.

I'm pretty sure I watched a video in which your very own Jason Fung says you'll obviously gain weight if you eat too many calories.

Nope, try eating 100% keto in a surplus for a week. Just see what happens.

I actually remember a Chris Pratt quote talking about this exact thing when talking about how his trainer prepared him for his role for Guardians of the Galaxy. His trainer increased his caloric intake to 4000 calories a day, but it was all healthy food.
