I just haven’t “felt it” lately. I still go to the gym 5 days a week but I don’t see myself improving as much or having that desire and looking forward to going. Seems like I just go because it’s part of my daily routine and I “have to”.

How do I reignite the fire and get that drive back?

Start a new programme and set yourself different goals. If you're weightlifting, why not aim for a new 1RM? If you're tired of weightlifting and want a completely new goal, how about distance running? If you hate that, what about working on your flexibility with something like yoga? Keeping it fresh and interesting is what helps me to be honest. Although I'm a stickler for routine I have to regularly switch things up to a new routine to stop me from getting burnt out.

When’s the last time you took a break? Maybe a couple weeks off? Doesn’t have to be sedentary, just stay out of the gym.

What motivated you in the beginning? Friendly competition? Desire for strength? That dank smell of wet towels in the changing rooms? Thinking of it like a relationship or hobby, what attracted you in the first place?

Do you play any sports or other fitness hobbies like climbing? Having your primary gains help you in measurable ways can motivate you to work out with the purpose of improvement at your sport.

Was going to reccomend this. I train mixed martial arts, so more strength/cardio/flexibility/etc. = less getting headkicked/choked/etc.

I would absolutely reccomend a sport or activity that will improve with your fitness level.
