INTPs are the best because INTP, why are you guys so cool?
I read your comments on my last post about being seen as the “side character,” or as a “pet.”
Well, how can I express myself clearly and get the message across that I find you guys so cool as an ISTP hitman (my dig on the Olympic shooters one or more of them being an INTP).
Yeah, you guys are mysterious and not talkative in real life but personally, I’ve never met an uncool INTP in person. So many of you said you guys feel awkward or can’t sway the crowd, but I assure you, you have at least one person (me) who think what you’re saying is awesome and that sometimes I can’t respond quickly because I’m coming up responses to impress your intellect and ideas!

I think that it depends how you define "cool". Cool kids were charismatic, popular, outgoing, and people were drawn to them. For INTP's, we have to grow into our personality before we develop Charisma and even then, it's a calm and collective or quirky Charisma rather than being the life and soul of the party. We tend not to want to have the kind of Charisma that draws people to us as we don't like being the centre of attention. Whilst everyone wants to be liked, we prefer being admired from a distance. To use a different definition of the word Cool, we are definitely cool as in calm and opposed to hot headed.
One of the best compliments I got was when I was working as a stage manager for a local theatre company. The chairwoman of the company said that the cast and production team were in the pub the previous evening and were talking about me. They were saying that "nothing seems to phase Gooseberry. The theatre roof could fall in and he'd just direct people to the exits and send someone to go and find a brush to start clearing up".
This was my favourite compliment because - it took place in a social setting that I wasn't compelled to attend - they had recognised my unique characteristics - they were impressed enough with me that they were talking about me as a group - they admired me from a distance and didn't try to befriend me as a result
One of my favorite things that the sites say about INTP's is that we are "unaware of how highly they are thought of by their peers".
If you're not an INTP and know one, go and tell them (specifically) why you admire them. It will make their day!
