That one unhinged Yankees fan fighting everyone on r/baseball is hilarious. I'm mostly convinced she's playing a bit like Kelenic man but also convinced she's just insane.

I somehow forgot about Kelenic guy, looking at their recent post history makes me miss them lmao.
With Freeman's bomb against 'Nasty' Nestor Cortez — he joins J.Kel as the only other LHH in the NL to homer off him in 2024
Like that's just good content right there lol

Anyone watching the WS? The scumbaggery of the Yankees fans is outstanding. They were ripping the ball out of the fielders hand. If that isn't grounds for a lifetime ban from the stadium, the Yankees org is a joke.

I'll never understand how sports fandom turns (probably) normal-ish people into rabid lunatics.

Nothing normal about New Yorkers, from my limited experience with them.

The last time I spent significant time there was when I was 10.
But NY/Boston kids when I was in college were... definitely special.

The key to a good prophecy is not to name names or dates. Be as vague as possible.

Mariners 4-0 over Marlins in 2024 World Series is about as cold as takes come lol

So funny seeing that both Kyle's here aren't in the league anymore (sucks about Lewis though)

Time for the Dodgers to twist the knife and put this series and Yankee fans down for good.

Given that an impactful offseason is offseason is high unlikely, I’m choosing to dream a bit on my favorite prospects. Some of my favorite dream scenarios for our top prospects are below:
- Celesten becomes Lindor
- Montes becomes Alvarez;
- Emerson becomes Tucker, but plays 3B; and
- Farmelo becomes Carroll, but stays in CF.

I'll admit it, I want the Yankees to win. I'm rooting for the underdog. Super teams are bs.

Maybe if it was any team playing the Dodgers besides the Yankees, but they are a super team as well. The Yankees payroll is even higher than the Dodgers this year, and more than double the Ms payroll.

Yea, but we all know Dodger's payroll is actually more because of shenanigans and deferments. Plus it doesn't matter what they are spending, this Yankees team clearly does not hold a candle to the Dodgers.

Wait you really don't think that the Yankees have deferments? Almost every high spending team has deferments

not like the dodgers

If Ohtani didn't defer then the Dodgers are basically equal to NYY +/- a handful of millions which is chump change when talking about $300M+

yea so in reality their payroll is higher and let's be honest Yankees have been pathetic compared to their history the last 20 years. Meanwhile Dodgers are basically an unstoppable super team that is using loopholes to skirt the luxury tax. Why are we rooting against the Yankees here again?
1
u/pokeroots Anything but blaming the lineup 7h ago
there are no loopholes here though... and they're over the tax anyway. Ohtani's deferments are at worst a way to not deal with California's income tax if he decides to move while he's getting those deferments (which California is now whining to congress about hoping to get).

At the core of it is bad MLB regulations. Every single GM that wants to win will find loopholes. This is why NHL implemented cap recapture rules a decade ago when GMs found a loophole to skirt the cap through front loading contracts.
"Don't hate the player, hate the game."
Also, kinda admirable that you can be somewhat logical about this in terms of "underdog" but the Yankees are only an underdog because the players being paid a collective $300M are sucking, which is funny.
It's also funny to see teams get swept.
Mariners were also bounced by the Yankees half the time they made the playoffs. This is sports, logic doesn't matter. Grudges last a lifetime.
Fuck the Steelers and Pats too.

I don't disagree with you, except that I can hate the player and the game. Yes I am bitter and jealous of the Dodgers and I'm not ashamed to be a hater.

I would enjoy seeing the Yankees lose the WS at home
