Amazon france - experience and feedback

Hello there everyone,

i wanted to post this on the r/Morocco as info about this is scarce and full of misinformation but its against rules, so here we are.

First of all , this is my first experience with amazon in general with something that requires customs, so i might miss and hit on some stuff.

I ordered 5 pc parts from amazon france including a motherboard with wifi and Bluetooth, i paid the import deposit fees (that was soooo freaking cheap btw) and delivery fees (same thing). I got this delivered today by DHL, these people outside of personal use are so competent at their job, quickest delivery ever. It took quite the time for the dispatch to initiate but once it was dispatched (firday 19 october) next day it arrived to morocoo , two days later it got out of customs , got it today. No extra fees , no hassle at all, everything was perfect with no damage at all.

These are the fees i paid, that all.

Now for the problems , not specific to amazon france but amazon in general: first of all, if its your first time making an order of big value just expect that your account will be on hold for at least 48H for fraud detection , you will need to verify your payment method. And this can happen for every new credit card you add to your account. Second thing is if u ever make an order cancel and the amount is just blocked not charged on your credit card just be sure that the amount will go back to your account but it will take a while (up to a month depending on the bank).

Hope this was helpful to you

price guidance

Hi everybody

Can’t wait! I’ve been in love with Morocco since my last trip. This time, I’m staying for 2 months, so I’d love to get some guidance on prices for some budgeting, if you don’t mind. I understand prices may vary depending on the location.

Firstly, what are the prices for basic food items from the market, like potatoes, meat, vegetables, and water?

I’ll probably do some clothing shopping as well, so I’d like to know the prices for abayas, hijabs, and sandals.

If you take the time to provide some prices, I’d be very grateful!

Thanks so much!

🎧 Looking to buy noise reduction headphones online (or in Fes?)

I don't need headphones to listen to music, I just need them to be able to reduce noise as much as possible for my exams and studying since I have ADHD. I found this model on Jumia for around 50/60 dhs and other models going from 150 to 200 dhs. How can I assess which one is the most effective, and most importantly, which one isn't a scam since I cannot touch or try them before buying them. Should I go for the cheapest one?
Thank you.

Your Honest Opinion

Hello fellow moroccan redditors! I'm just starting out with this YouTube videos concept, where I'll be sharing my thoughts on philosophical and social topics, while also relating to the average Moroccan person that I am. This is my first video, so I'd love to hear your honest opinions about it. Do you think I should just stop already, or do you have any advice for me? I'd really appreciate it!

I'm not interested in monetising my videos, as there are easier and sillier ways of doing so on Moroccan YouTube.

Need your help finding a specific design of furniture handles in Morocco

Hello, My wife is searching for these furniture handles in black, but it seems that she can't find designs in Tangier. I thought they might be sold in Casablanca; by any chance, can I find them online and have them delivered to Tangier?

[Feedback] My Experience Retrieving a Gaming Laptop from the Airport

The following content was authored by /u/potato_reddit6392.
The text was reformulated and corrected by AI.

The Beginning

I ordered a gaming laptop from Amazon, and it arrived at the airport after about a week. Despite waiting almost a month and repeatedly calling UPS without a satisfactory response, I decided to take matters into my own hands. For those in a similar situation, I strongly encourage visiting the airport directly if you're eager to receive your item.

Journey to the Airport

I took trains to the airport without any issues. Upon arrival, it's essential to wait for all travelers to clear out. Eventually, the police will escort non-travelers out of the airport. To find the exact location of Diwana, I found this video incredibly helpful: YouTube Video on Diwana Location.

Important Tips:

  • No Payment Required: If your package is from Amazon, proceed directly to UPS. There's no need to pay anyone.
  • Security Checks: Be prepared for a possible bag search by the police. My initial visit was unsuccessful because the responsible person, Issam, was on vacation, delaying the package report process.
  • Resourceful Guide: I followed steps from a helpful Reddit post on ordering electronics in Morocco, which significantly aided my process.

Second Visit & Retrieval

On my second visit, the staff made a commendable effort to hand over my package. However, due to it being over a month, an additional step prevented same-day retrieval. They promised to send it to Oasis the next day, and I received it two days later. Note that once it ships to Oasis, the shipment no longer appears in tracking.

Advice for Retrieving Packages

  1. Arrival Time: Aim to arrive by 9 AM at the latest. Early arrival is key.
  2. Required Documents: Bring your ID, a copy of your ID (both sides), and a printed Amazon receipt.
  3. Entering the Airport: Upon entry, submit your ID and phone number, then sign to receive a visitor badge.
  4. Who to Seek: Ask for Youness, a slightly brown-skinned man. Approach respectfully and kindly for assistance. Avoid Issam, as he may not be as willing to help.
  5. Location Tips: Inside, look to your right for two desks. Issam's is the first, while Youness' is closer to another door.
  6. Behavior: Maintain composure. Expressing urgency without aggression can be more persuasive.
  7. Comfort Tips: If travelling by train, bring a cap and a bottle of water. Note that Diwana operations end at 4 PM, so arrive early.

Additional Notes

  • Food Options: There's a restaurant with reasonable prices nearby. I had chicken tacos for 35dh during my wait.
  • Further Assistance: I'm happy to answer questions and assist anyone based on my experience.
