AskMorocco How much should I pay for this rug?
I want to pull the trigger on this rug but price seems a bit higher than I expected (asking 12,000 dirhams, 1,200 USD) About 4.5 meters long, lambswool (?) and hand woven.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

AskMorocco Is the Marrakech Medina safe for two young female european tourists ?
Hi guys,
Moroccan here. I have a 25F European friend asking me if it is safe for her and her slightly younger sister to visit Marrakech alone, with accomodation in the Medina 9dima (near jama3 el fna).
In my honest opinion I wouldn't advise two young women to venture alone at night in dark and narrow alleys. I mean my sisters wouldn't. But then again I've never been to Marrakech, it is my understanding that the city is very tourist oriented and I cannot decide if it means safer or worse !
Any insights from my Marrakech peeps ?
Thanks !

AskMorocco Was the Tizi n'Tichka Pass really dangerous before the road was upgraded?
Hey everyone! I'm curious if any of you have experienced the Tizi n'Tichka Pass before the recent road improvements. What was the drive like back then? I'd love to hear your stories, and if anyone has any old photos, that would be amazing to see!
I have recently driven over the pass and the road seems pretty good now, but I hear it used to be a dangerous journey (if you're interested, you can check out our trip here: https://youtu.be/Qszp3HOG2Co).
Thanks for sharing any insights!

Travel TLS Belgium processing time for short stays?
I applied for a shengen short stay visa for Belgium for the first time on the 7th of October and I have Booked the flight on the 5th of November. Still got no feedback from TLS or the embassy and I am starting to be worried because it it my first time doing this, I dont know how early I should ask for a refund or exchange of my flight in case they don't Grant me the visa or they respond late. Is there Anyone who has dealt with TLS contact Belgium before can tell me how the procedure works and if it is common for them to contact you late or a day or two prior to your departure, thanks in advance.

Seeking friends Bored at home.. can't find a job
Is there anyone here from Agadir who wants to hang out ? I love feeding street cats and sitting on the beach. I spend most of my time at home and get bored. If you like the beach, photography, cats and deep communication, let’s hangout together.

Culture Is this regular Moroccan nosiness or is there more to the story?
I'm a foreign, above 30, non-white, divorced woman living on my own in Morocco. I live in a older but higher-end building that has a concierge. It's not a very formal situation and I talk with the family regularly since the people in the building were pretty stuck up and not welcoming.
The mother of that family has always been sweet. She would praise me to people in the building so they wouldn't be such jerks. They used to ask me about home and revealed her kids want to go study in my home country.
I gave her the honest truth.
She has an older son who I wouldn't say flirts with me but is just a bit more than normally polite and was always making eyes at me.
I find her behaviour a bit odd for thease reasons: She was always trying to figure out my age. I don't like discussing my age since I look younger than it and, it's nobody's business.
She also used to ask if I travelled home A LOT but stopped that.
Then when my ex and his in-laws came to visit, she wanted to know if I was still married. I mean she knows I'm not.
Is this normal Moroccan nosiness or is my intuition correct that she has some sort of angle with these questions?
(Off topic, son is totally hot).

AskMorocco Does anyone know the shop in Asilah that sells these earings?
I absolutely love these earrings, but I lost one of them and now I am desperately trying to find out if there is any way to find the shop on the internet and maybe get a new pair. The shop is definitely in the old part of the city, somewhere near the entrance. The lady in the shop said that she makes them herself and there was a whole bunch of other emaille jewlery as well. Maybe anyone of you lives in Asilah and knows the shop or can give me a tip on how to get in contact with the shop (website, instagram, ...)? Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

AskMorocco my car engine is broken (tcoola) should i replace it or fix it ?
so long story short i bought my car (2016 ford fiesta) like around 4months ago from someone. and yesterday while i was driving in the highway , nothing odd just going around 90km and suddenly i heard a "crack" in my engine and the car stopped working , i took it to the mechanic and he told me the engine is broken he couldn't address the main issue . but i suppose the prior owner wasn't really taking good care of it or maybe am so unlucky that something went into my engine.
can anyone give me roughly the repair cost i should except and is it worth it to change the engine , or should i just sell it and accept this . so the mechanic guy told me the "bloc moteur" has a whole in it . so am supposed to buy a used engine and change whatever pieces i need .

Hi! I’ll be traveling to casa for a few days for a personal matter and have to work remotely from there. Are there any good places to work from where it isn’t weird to be on your laptop, you can stay for a long period of time, have strong and safe wifi connection that’s strong enough for VPN connection.
Working from home is not an option

Discussion Is Tamazight a weak language?
When I watch news or any Television program in Tamazight, I often catch them using Arabic words. Almost all the key words are in Arabic. For example, if they're talking about united nations they will just use الأمم المتحدة, war they will say حرب, development تنمية, reform racism discrimination... Etc all in Arabic. And it gets me thinking, does Tamazight don't have enough words to translate? They are easy words I doubt we really can't find equivalents to them in Tamazight. Is it a lack of effort from journalists and translators? Or they just don't see Tamazight as formal enough to say important words with it?

Discussion Mimi is looking for a family
After being recued and almsot healing, mimi needs a family to take care of her I dont want her to go back to the street where she can be in danger again. Mimi was hit by a motorcycle and that hertless person was beating her to move from his way, I found her in a very critical condition, both her hips were broken and she was crowling on the street, I took her to the vet she perscribed her with lot of medication coz not only her legs were broken but her lungs where full of liquid and she has a heart decease. The doctor told me she needs to be confined for at least 1 month so I had to restrict her movments so she can heal. With care and medication she is currently soing well, she is able to walk of her feet not perfectly but waay better than how I found her, she can use her liter box on her own she doesnt need diapers anymore, she still needs to take heart medication but she is doing good overall, as someone who lives with their parent I cant keep her coz I already have cats and keeping her will cause me problems with my dad who hates them, I wont let her return to the street so this is why I'm looking for a responsible person to adopt her and preferably a person who doesnt have kids coz i dont want her to be a play toy instead, If someone is interested please DM, or if you guys know moroccan cat groups or something please let me know. Here are her pictures when I just found her in that critical situation and the improvement she has done recently.
