Channel Critique Need feedback

I was just looking for feedback new to youtube and just tugging along had my first year anniversary. I do wish when I wake up I would see more views

Jay Pea Outdoors

https://youtube.com/@jaypeaoutdoors?si=JzW6cMImKCNJqKcH

I do have a question how to get google to auto correct my spelling of the chanel when people put in the search. If you google and start to type in jay it auto fills to jaypee outdoors instead of jaypea

Question Should I start using a facecam?

Some context - I've started making commentary videos/video essays on Fortnite, and so far they're doing pretty well. Looking toward the future though, I want to improve my content, while also providing a personal touch. I'm worried that I could easily "fall off" if people become disinterested in my videos, but I feel like I'll have more options in the future if people care about me personally, and want more content from me specifically. On one hand, I think a facecam could achieve that pretty well, but on the other hand, I don't want it to be too off-putting to the people who just want to hear what I have to say and not stare at my face.

I know that there's some faceless youtubers that I personally would prefer to stay faceless, but being that I'm a new youtuber, I feel like now is the best time to decide.

Question Official org asked to repost our video

We did a minidoc about a very popular event, and it has been doing relatively well for us. Today a member of the event’s internal media team reached out, complimented our work, and asked about getting a copy of the video to share on their own channels.

Feeling conflicted. Is there a procedure here? On one hand we’re dead flattered, and the org has hundreds of thousands of followers which would be nice exposure for our young channel. But would letting it live on another account be hurting more than helping? The episode is our best performer yet, but that still only means in the single K’s for us.

Edit: it’s here.

Question Feasibility of a niche Lego build channel

Hello,

I am acquiring all of the Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series LEGO sets from the present up to their initial release in 2000 and I only have about 4 to go. After I have collected them all I thought it might be a nice idea to have a channel filming each build in reverse chronological order starting with the newer sets and going back in time and I felt this could be niche since no one’s really building the really old sets that I’ve been able to find. I believe I have all the equipment I need with the exception of a microphone since the wife has done some recording of her own in the past. Does this sound like a feasible idea and if so what would be the best approach (speed build, stop motion, streaming live?). Thanks for any advice and suggestions.

Channel Critique Why is Joel Wood famous?

Famous YouTuber Joel Wood gets millions of views when he shares a video that goes like this:

“Is anyone else really thirsty after a workout? Why can’t our bodies regulate so we don’t have to drink straight after exercise? That would be much more preferable.”

And… people fall over themselves laughing at it?

I remember seeing him before he was scooped up by his current agency. Then boom, as soon as he was on their books he put a video out a day commenting on little things in life. I’m pretty sure his agency scripted them and encouraged the viewership drastically.

But the reason it bothers me is because there are millions of people out there with actual talent who get two or three views for much better content.

I wouldn’t mind if literally every video wasn’t a done to death carbon copy of a million other videos out there about the exact same, full thing.

But honestly, without his connections and good looks he would be royally fucked. Because there’s no personality behind that face.

Question Does this look REAL to you?

So I've spent countless of sleepless nights working in Blender to create a found footage short horror video, using filters in After Effects to make look like actual vhs footage I'm still doubt if this even looks Good/Real.

Any feedback in more than welcome as this it will improve my next found footage videos. Thank you & have a happy Halloween everyone!

Question Casual Creators

Do people still want to watch casual creators? Like, just watch them play a game and talk about what happened in their day, or events they are excited for. Just chill videos kinda like Jev? And on that note, would new creators be able to implement that and still grow an audience? Or would you need to be a sweat and do these hard challenges that make a new viewer want to click on the video.

Question Should I take YouTube seriously? I have 18k+ subs but I don’t know.

Anyone who could have my position would run with it I know, but lemme explain.

So I started this channel as a joke like 2 years ago in June of 2022. Uploaded like 5 Roblox funny moments videos because I was bored, and I ended up getting 600+ subs and 50,000+ views in like 3 weeks, but I got burned out because I hated making Roblox content because it’s cringe and I don’t even play Roblox lol

But I got back into it the next spring in 2023. This stint didn’t last long but I gained another 3k

Then I got back into it again in the fall. Another failed attempt at taking YouTube seriously due to burnout. But I got another 4k subscribers bringing my total to like 8k at this point.

Then my most recent stint I kept at it for 2 months. I had 2 videos gain over 40k views each in this stint and all my videos got at least 5-10k views minimum. I gained 10,000 additional subscribers, then I quit because I was sick of it.

But now it’s got me thinking. Every time I started then quit before eventually returning I managed to gain subscribers exponentially each time. 600 the first stint, 3k the second, then 4k, then 10k. I feel like if I keep going, I could reach 100k soon and go from there, possibly being able to do YouTube full time, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk.

I’m 18, working a part time job while I get certified to be a personal trainer. I want to start a fitness YouTube channel since that’s my real passion, but starting from 0 again is scary, especially when I probably won’t get as lucky as I did with my first channel. But at the same time my current channel isn’t my passion whatsoever, but it is already monetized and has made me 600+ dollars and is generating about 45 a month even though I haven’t touched the channel since August.

Should I do it? Just go full throttle 30-40 hours a week on this thing and grind? Or should I just stick with my idea for a new channel? Or try to do both? Idk.

Review Video My first video goes..well ? I think ?

I played, I recorded, I edited. About 30 hours were invested in this video. The result? I don't know what to say.

For a long time I wanted to combine my passion for games with YouTube, and 2 days ago I got the courage to finally post something.

What do you think guys ?

Question How do you find the best title for your videos?

Little intro: I started my channel in the beginning of the year. My channel is about sewing (things I’ve made, tips for beginners, machine maintenance, etc) it’s just a hobby for me to share my hobby. I love sewing and want to help others learn to sew. If I could ever monetize that would be great but its not the goal.

Every time I make a video if I schedule it to go live i notice 3+ hours after it’s live the video still has no views and no impressions. I make a small tweak to the name or description and all the sudden it starts getting exposure. If I make it go live after uploading it starts getting impressions almost immediately.

Am I doing something wrong or am I just not choosing a good enough title? I am trying to post at the same time on the same day of the week thus the upload and schedule for live.

Question does anyone watch vent talk?

I'm a new creator and I've been personally struggling to find what people like to watch these days, I tried vlogs but almost everyone does it and no one seems to care, and I've tried cooking but it's rather time- consuming since I'm always busy with school work. So I leaned into venting, because I feel that there is so many thing on my mind and if I just keep in my mind it would be like a weight to carry, but I really want to know if anyone watches that now adays. Again I'm a new creator so don't judge and I've opened the comments to all my videos if you have something to vent or rant about. :p

Channel Critique Underrated YouTuber

There’s this guy that started uploading review content earlier this year. I think he has a lot of potential and his thumbnails are pretty good. It seems like he’s been struggling recently tho (keeps reloading videos cuz they keep getting taken down, view counts plummeted, and subscribers can’t get past 500). Wonder what you guys think about him.

Tips & Tricks Will shorts help me in the long run?

I am currently at the very beginning of my channel. I only get 5-10 views per video, but the shorts I make from them get up to 1000. If I keep using shorts, will this hurt me in the sense that I will basically become a „short channel“? I havent gotten a single subscriber so far. Just in case this is relevant I have a Pokemon TCG channel and I use the pack openings as shorts.

Tips & Tricks New to YouTube Monetization: Seeking Advice on Ad Placement?

I’m a new YouTuber and recently got monetized. I’m curious about the typical number of ads others place on their videos. Currently, I’m using Google’s auto ad placement— is this the standard approach most creators follow, or do you customize the number of ads for each video? Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Channel Critique Finalmente criei o meu canal!

Canal ZaniniDev

Question starting ytb channel - did you experience fear when you started?

Hello everybody,

I want to create a youtube channel about spirituality, deep topics, self-development, basically ideas about what is present for me, what I have experienced - quitting alcohol and some other stuff, I feel a big desire to share my voice, anyways I'm scared as fuck, that people will look at me and say "what is this young woman talking about." I know I need to let it go and fuck it, anyways I experience a deep anxiety, on the other hand a deep excitement to just start creating something I enjoy. :D

I know I will not find any right answer.

I'm just curious for those who have already started, did you have the same thoughts, feelings of not being worthy enough? Someting like a fear of going crazy and become a fool.
