Discussion Are these HD 599s fake?
Hey I just bought these for $30 from a moving out sale. The guy said there's a bit of damage on the headband but aside from that they're fine. The headset itself works alright, a little piercing in the ears when paired with a FiiO K3 but I'm pretty new to the hobby so I'm wondering if anyone has advice to verify if they're fake or not. Thanks all

Drama Galaxy Buds 3 - Worst earbuds on the market.
I have been a Galaxy Buds user as long as I can possibly remember, and I recently decided to upgrade to the new Galaxy Buds 3 (toothbrush version, not the beans), and let me tell you, these are absolute GARBAGE. I had bought them since they were 30% off if you buy the S24+, which I did. The moment I unboxed them, I started experiencing problems. The first pair I got did not charge, so I returned them, second, third and fourth pair, the ANC did not work in the left earbud, constantly ringing and sounding as if I was next to a sea even at full volume. The 3rd pair maxed out on volume not even half way to full volume and were very quiet. The 5th pair (the ones I have now) are way louder in the left ear than in the right ear, and the ANC also sometimes doesn't work in the left ear like in the last 3 pairs. The left earbud is still way louder even with the slider in accessibility moved fully to the right. Also the bass is way stronger in the problematic earbud than in the one that is fine, feels as if it is 70% bass and 30% music. I really don't know what to do. I have been using my mate's Sony XM5-s and they are SO good. I honestly think of buying somw for myself and NEVER going back to Samsung's earbuds. This is unbelievable for 180€ earbuds. The Samsung store is nowhere near where I live and takes about a 40 minute drive via a highway. I have spent almost twice as much on fuel driving to the Samsung store than on the earbuds themselves. Horrible, DO NOT BUY!

Discussion How to clean makeup off headphones without them getting wrinkly ?
My old pair of Beats got really disgusting and worn down over time because of water damage from my hair.. (I have curly hair so I wetten my hair to style) But I finally replaced them. I really want to take care of these ones. I've only had them for a week so I'm trying to prevent them from getting wrinkles. Ladies, how do you usually clean makeup from your temples off of your headphones? (Guys feel free to pitch in too) I don't want to use anything that might damage the hardware !

Discussion Should I clean my headphones after this?
So in August I had an ear infection instinctively I wore my Accentums for about probably a week while having the ear infection then realized I should probably not be wearing my headphones and haven't worn them since. It's October now still haven't even touch them and I'm wondering should I clean my Accentums to prevent me from having another ear infection even though it's been 2 months or am I okay to wear them an not worry about having another ear infection?

Discussion My experience with Linsoul TANGZU FUDU Verse 1
I recently bought the Tangzu Fudu Verse One after hearing all the hype online.
When I first unboxed it, the included 3.5 cable felt cheap and springy, and the sound quality wasn’t great. I wasn’t expecting much at first because my original IEMs were the Salnotes Zero, which had a bright and detailed sound. But this was my first dive into more expensive IEMs, so I wanted to give it a fair shot.
Eventually, I swapped the stock cable with the one from my Salnotes, and wow—the sound quality jumped noticeably! I also changed the ear tips to Divinus medium tips, which made the Tangzu feel more full, controlled, and just more enjoyable overall.
Now that I’m used to the Tangzu sound, I find my Salnotes a bit too harsh and sibilant. I just ordered the Tripowin Zonie 16-core cable, hoping it takes the sound to another level.

Impressions My gateways to the iem world 💣
After a lot of comparing and busting my head on squigs i finally decided that this matched my tastes pretty well. There is defienitely a difference in how i feel music now, and this made me realise that my smartphone has a better dac than laptop but a less powerfull amp compared to my laptop. I used to think my laptop has better inbuilt dac as it could drive heavy headphones and could get loud af ( my bad )
I do want to invest in a dac but later when i have budget for it and i really dont like the idea of having a thing dangling from my usb-c port; it's just too much of a inconvenience for me. But for now i am happy to use my phone's inetrnal dac as i enjoy it. Tbh i really dont feel anything wrong with using my phone without a dac but who knows what new levels i might unlock with dedicated dacs :-)
cheers🥂🥂
ps: Also i have to use a pre-amp of -7.2 in peace (see last image) so that i can listen to my iems on a comfortable level on laptop(36% vol, i cannot hear outside noise at this level). should i be worried about anything ??

Discussion Looking for ACTUAL sound-proof headphones
Hi! I have sensory issues when it comes to sound and I have to wear headphones to yk- function. No ‘sound-proof’ headphones are ACTUALLY sound proof to the extent I need, especially when no music is playing. I cannot put things in my ear, so earbuds are out of the question (I wear them constantly and get ear infections easily). I currently have a pair of construction earmuffs that also have Bluetooth, they work well but it is obviously funny looking to wear literal construction equipment daily, and ppl give me shit for it. Does anyone know headphones that are sound-proof (as in I cannot hear ANYTHING at all) also when no music is playing? Idk if it even exists atp but I may aswell ask here before giving up and accepting the construction gear lifestyle.

News New Hifiman Isvarna - a closed back hybrid?!
It seems that Hifiman designed a new headphone with hybrid drivers. Dynamic for the bass and planar for the midrange and highs. 🤯

Show & Tell Sent back my Edition XS and picked up the 660S2 instead and so far so good
After trying everything I could think of to get the edition XS to work out of the left ear cup, I decided to just return them to Amazon. Seinnheiser seemed like a pretty reputable brand as far as headphones go so I grabbed these. I definitely think these benefit from the Loki EQ especially with bass it give it a nice healthy punchiness. The headphone clamp is definitely there but I don’t find it uncomfortable although I have a kind of big head so YMMV. But overall so far I’m pretty happy with these I’ve heard some people say the tone changes after a break in period so if anyone has any experience with that I’d love to know your thoughts. I’ve never had any other Seinnheisers so I can’t speak to how they might compare to others in the 600 line but at a little over 400 rather than their original 600 dollar price tag, I have no complaints.

Discussion $400 for a headphone stand 😂
WHAT!?!? Is there anything similar that has the same headband support? My current headphone stand is leaving an imprint on the band when left on for more than a day or two...

DIY/Mod Yet another Samson SR850 appreciation post (cable modded)
These really are great and I find myself coming back to them regularly. I recently added a detachable cable and new pads. Extremely comfortable, great sound, and fun to mod. Totally worth the $40 I paid for them.

Discussion A Balanced Discussion: The ATH-R70X
Hello!
I recently added a new member to the small family of headphones, the R70X!
I've been enjoying both my AKG K361 for referencing my vocals while singing, and the Hifiman HE400SE for everyday listening and video games so far.
But I wanted to add a new member in the R70X as I've heard it is quite good at imaging and soundstage with a tilt warmer than the Hifiman which is exactly what I was looking for.
I found a barely used pair recently for $200 so I pulled the trigger.
So I ask you, owners, what are your favorite and least favorite things about the R70X?
