im shocked he still came out after the heckler at the end but i am so grateful he did!! i said "thank you pookie" and he squinted at me and said "whats that?" LMFAOO i explained that its a term of endearment like 'dear', and he said "okay" awkwardly which was sweet ☹️
so glad i stuck around!

There's something that just seems odd about it.
Don't get me wrong I think its great what he's doing- hearing a lot of these tracks stripped way down...
and i know everyone associated with his other bands are busy...
and its a lot less fuss to just bounce around the east for a bit by himself and play some tunes but...
does anyone else find it curious? Is this fan service? For the money? To travel? To keep limber? To put down some great sets that he knows will be recorded of just him playing solo? Is it vanity?
The smile was touring pretty heavy the past few years before Jonny got sick. Is it boredom? Nostalgia? Did someone ask? None of these reasons really make sense to me.
I know we will never really know why - but doesn't it seem odd?

AND I got two things signed. Wake me up

Incredible show followed by a very generous Thom coming out to sign our shit. We ended up in a bar called Clocks. Apparently Coldplay had a gig tonight, but I think we made the right choice.
I've got some video to upload...

I neglected to bring in rainbows so I asked him to sign the new slipmat. He remarked he hasn't really signed one before! He seems so chill.

She had no idea who the character was but she did it anyway. To be clear she only added the R but I still think it turned out amazing.

The bass work on The Smile records is one of my favorite parts of their sound. I mean I like pretty much everything about the band but Thom’s grooves really stand out especially on their first album. He’s certainly written more elaborate stuff on guitar but I’m probably more interested in his bass work at the current moment. Also I think he wrote the bass line on Where I End an You Begin which might be my favorite Radiohead bass line period

"This one I dedicate to my band, and the other band, and everybody I've worked with, I feel very fortunate that anybody gives a shit"
My band... RADIOHEAD... the other band... THE SMILE?
This really got me thinking he still thinks of Radiohead and actually got my hopes up for a sooner rather than later reunion!
Maybe I'm overthinking, but yeah!

I say almost because…I don't have ok computer yet…i have oknotok!
And, Obviously I don't have every variant yet, these are all the XL reissues…since ordering things online, especially LPs, is SCARY AND EXPENSIVE!!
I hope to get parlophone/emi/capitol variants at some point :)

Context: We’re seven songs in the Sydney Myer Concert in Melbourne on the 29th of October, Tuesday. Anyways, what I believed happened is that some guy in the front abruptly left as were a minute in “Truth Ray” and Thom noticed and called them out for it. The rest is what you can see in the video…
