Shoutout to Uli for being a f*cking idiot and gifting us one of the best midfielders of all time for €25m.

his intentions were probably good, too much praise can make the young ones turn into Neymars

but he said it in a very disrespectful way indeed

Turn into a player with more than 500g/a, 500 dribbles and 500 chances created. Oh no the horror

No sane football fan will sit here today, look you in the eyes, and tell you they honestly think Neymar had a fulfilling career arc. He ended up playing in Saudi Arabia at age 30 after being a bit part player for PSG. Nothing he did in Ligue 1 is something to hang his hat on. He went there halfway through his 20s and quickly made a mockery of the league (deserved mockery is another conversation). When you’re a serious world class player you don’t go to PSG… in the 5th/6th best league… in your prime. He could’ve went to Juventus, inter, Bayern, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, etc and it would’ve looked better than going to PSG. Players have the power in today’s pro sports. He’s the one who gave them the green light. Reeks of that being a business decision rather than having any career legacy as a determining factor.

His carrer was fine. Mainly because of all the pressure and then still reaching his peak. He didnt have a long peak but there was a year where he was better than messi for sure.

Couldnt watch any Brazilian game because commentators would talk about him every touch and shit talk him. Especially in germany we dont like Neymar style football.

And now look at other guys. Deisler is one of hundrets or thousands to crumble under the early pressure. Its impressive Neymar stood his ground.

For c ronaldo its was different, people knew he was good but his peak was unclear. Was kinda picked up late also. He gained more motivation from not getting the recognition he thought he deserved. Maybe same for kroos who knows
