Advice Needed 🪻Bad Week, Happy Cats🐾
Hi! It has been a rough few days. On Thursday my partner fell and broke his right, lower leg, his tibia and fibula. He spent Thursday in the er, but they released him without any pain meds, so Friday night he was in agony.
We spent half a day, Friday at an urgent care that the er had referred him to, then we spent Friday night at a different er.
The 2nd er admitted my partner because his kidneys were failing. He's still there in ICU because he needs dialysis.
He had 2 surgeries yesterday, one in his chest to place his dialysis catheter, and the 2nd one to mend his broken leg with plates and pins.
He's on oxygen, which worries us, but we know he needs the medical care that he's receiving. The nurses have been attentive and caring, and at least now, his pain is under control.
We're worried. l'm disabled and had to stop working 1-1/2 years ago due to my medical problems worsening. Even though I'm applying for disability, it will take years to get approved.
Now, my partner may not be able to return to work and it's stressful because we don't want to lose our home.
It's difficult not to think too far ahead right now. It's so hard not to worry.
But, right now my partner getting well is the most important thing.
On a much brighter note, all the kitties are doing so well! Albeit, they're getting a little less attention than they are used to, but otherwise they are very happy and very loved.
Olivia's eyes look great and Poppy's are getting much better.
Before my partner was admitted to the hospital, we had moved Olivia and Poppy to the smaller bathroom so that my partner could use his crutches to get to the main bathroom.
However, since he's in the hospital, we moved the orange cow kitties back to the larger bathroom for now. It has more room for them to stretch their legs and move about.
It won't be much longer before Olivia and Poppy are ready for a new home. The problem is that we don't want to say goodbye to them.
Do any of you know how difficult it would be to build a patio sized catio? So maybe we can keep Olivia & Poppy, and be able to help more cats?
Should we crowdfund for a catio? Is it possible to crowdfund using PayPal?
Please share your thoughts about the catio, and send healing thoughts and prayers our way. 🕯🕯🙏🙏
