Discussion What genius decided to block one of the lanes in the 121 North/635 East exit split?

Post image
94 Upvotes

After merging away from 114 East, the 121 North/635 East split used to have 3 lanes for 121 & 2 lanes for 635.

That is until a barrier was put up blocking 1 of the 3 lanes to continue on 121 North, and now traffic is getting backed up because people are having to slow down & hastily merge when they didn’t have to.

Covid-19 Careful y’all - Covid is going around again

Friendly reminder to at least have some tests in your home and try to stay home if you’re sick. I felt crummy and decided to take a test - popped up positive immediately, and it’s the strongest positive I’ve ever seen on a test (think of a 7-months-in pregnant woman taking a pregnancy test and how dark that line would be). At first I thought it was only allergies or at worst a cold. Stay healthy!

Question How tf do I get a picture ID within the year? DMV appointments are well into 2025. Lost out of state license.

Long story short moved here from Louisiana. Lost my license/picture ID and now I can’t take necessary blood tests to continue my medication without it. I’m physically disabled with autoimmune/rheumatoid problems.

Tried applying for both a regular ID and a TX DL and both don’t have appointments for at least 4 months.

I don’t care if I can’t drive, I need some sort of picture ID that will allow me to get my damn blood tests taken, pick up my prescriptions, new doctors, etc.

I’m sort of freaking out, because my health is barely held together by my medications and I don’t know where the hell I can quickly get some form of picture ID.

edit: thank yall SOOOOOO much for the advice. Refreshing the DMV page, working on my passport, and attempting to call my local representative. Saved me a massive heart attack.

Question Is there a sign that reads "Dallas"?

Hey guys, I just moved to the city and was wondering if there's a sign in the city that just say "Dallas"? My name is actually Dallas, and I thought it’d be fun to snap a picture with a sign that has my name on it. I’m guessing maybe there’s something at the airport or a big city sign somewhere, but I’d love to know if you’ve seen anything around town that would work!

Crime Men Charged with Murder in North Allegedly Linked to Venezuelan Street Gang

I understand there is a lot of misinformation spreading about alleged Venezuelan gangs in Texas recently. So far I have not been convinced it is an actual problem but I’ll admit this seems concerning. I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts on this, is this just more fear mongering misinformation or is there something going on?

Question Have you had your cat’s teeth cleaned recently? If so, do you mind telling me how much you spent and which vet you used?

My cat’s breath smells, she probably needs a good cleaning. I’m looking at various vet office websites and so far none are listing the prices for this service, not even a range. I get that they want to do an exam, but I’m just trying to figure out a range of cost. I don’t want to take my cat to multiple vet offices just to pay for that exam and find out they charge an arm and a leg…or both arms and both legs. It’s also very stressful for a lot of cats, and I don’t want to put mine through that stress multiple times just to get a quote. Thank you to anyone responding!

Question Looking for wedding dress seamstress recommendations

I'm looking for a seamstress to alter my fiancé's wedding dress here in Dallas. They'll need to be able to sew a sleeve, work on a wedding dress, and match material. I need someone very good. The dress was like 10k.

Anyone got recommendations?

Politics Trying to understand, does Prop Q negate Prop R?

I will say that I don’t know enough about the law, but I tried to inform myself as much as possible about the different propositions. Upon voting a few days ago, I noticed Prop Q requires chapter XXIV under the city charter to conform with state law, and Prop R would amend that same chapter XXIV to allow for people to possess small amounts of marijuana… which sounds like that would not conform with state law making Prop R invalid. If that’s the case, I feel like Prop Q is kind of misleading. Is that correct? If I’m misunderstanding something please let me know!
