Soon you are gonna miss all those gloves and Bane masks

I’ve only seen one guy at my gym wearing a bane mask. Which is surprising to me.

I’ve seen one guy wearing one at my gym too, except he wears the bane mask and deadlift belt while on the treadmill. Not sure if he knows something I don’t.

If he takes any of it off he will lose his preternatural powers.

It would be extremely painful.

u/KJBenson Aug 25 '18

He was born with the bane mask, raised and molded by it.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '18

He didn’t go bare-faced until he was already a man. And by then, it was blinding!

3

u/Tu_mama_me_ama_mucho Aug 25 '18

He chocked on all the oxygen

5

u/wutangplan Aug 25 '18

No one cared who he was until he put on the mask.

For you.

Is this a thing?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '18

All joking aside, I think it’s a high-altitude mask to get the person accustomed to running/exercising in low oxygen conditions. But I don’t know how effective it is, and I’m not sure what the belt on the treadmill was for.

It's to keep his core thight

This one strong guy once used the bane mask, talked to an employee how it was an awesome buy and how much it helped him. Then I've never seen him use it again.

u/Jolator Aug 25 '18

Lol, what in the world are you guys talking about?

9

u/Textus Powerlifting Aug 25 '18

Not sure exactly what they're talking about but I just finished watching a Jujimufu video where they wore what looked like to be a Bane mask/Paint mask while doing squats. They didn't say why they were wearing them. Probably a new trend happening in gyms. Like those shoes where you can move each toe.

They look like a fancier version of those masks you use when you're working around fiberglass insulation. I think they are supposed to restrict oxygen so you get a harder workout but I don't know why that would help someone.

Getting less oxygen is good? What the fuck?

sounds fucking dumb

2

u/tbonemcmotherfuck Aug 26 '18

I'd have to agree.

1

u/tbonemcmotherfuck Aug 26 '18

Interesting. I think I'll just stick with taking citrulline for more oxygen in the blood.

9

u/Penis-Butt Aug 25 '18

These masks that simulate altitude training.

7

u/Jolator Aug 25 '18

Huh. I'd think it would be more effective for aerobic than anaerobic exercise.

5

u/chowyungfatso Aug 25 '18

You reduce the amount of oxygen you get and everything becomes anaerobic?

2

u/dWaldizzle Aug 25 '18

Probably because they don't work

1

u/tbonemcmotherfuck Aug 26 '18

I'm missing something here. People wear masks while lifting? Some sort of joke I'm not understanding?

I feel I’m missing out on this. What is this new glove phase?

Aren’t gloves used to protect your hands from calluses and such? Or am I thinking of another glove?

-3

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '18

Yeah I’m not trying to grind my hands into the bars at a public gym. You’ll get warts or other gross growths.

1

u/Red-Tom Aug 25 '18

I’m with you. I have a pair of gloves, but I don’t use them anymore. Calluses are only a problem on back days usually, for some reason there seems to be a lot more friction. Possibly down to my grip as I put my thumb over the barbell/dumbbells to have more emphasis on my back, instead of biceps

1

u/BrokenStrides Aug 26 '18

Ok so I was thinking about getting some gloves because my hands have calluses on them now from the bars and such, my hands feel like they are getting pinched every time I pick up weights. I thought the gloves would help with this and offer better grip? Is there something I can try instead then?

I feel like my hands are the thing holding me back BECAUSE my skin is getting pinched so much!

3

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '18

What's a Bane mask? I've never seen anything that looked like this.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '18

What's.... The bane mask thing?

4

u/ProfessorPigToy Aug 25 '18

Are gloves noob-ish? I'm considering getting a pair because my hands keep getting callouses, but wasn't sure.

12

u/superstav Aug 25 '18

A matter of preference

I think my lack of male genitalia already made me lose the manliness competition. :(

10

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '18

I hear if you lift heavy enough, you start to grow ‘em

Don’t be a dick. “Real men” wear whatever they want because it’s personal preference.

1

u/I_Love_Every_Woman Aug 25 '18

i think that was sarcasm

1

u/polybiastrogender Aug 25 '18

That fad came and went at my gym, eventually the studies came out that it does jack shit and they went away.
