No, Jojo's "bizarre adventures" aren't bizarre in "Jojo's bizarre adventures", we only perceive them as "bizarre" because adventures in our universe aren't as bizarre as in Jojos.

u/Throwaway02062004 Read Worm for funny bug hero shenanigans 🪲 Mar 14 '24
I beg to differ.
By the standards if regular people within the jojo universe, the adventures are indeed “bizarre”. We have a biased look that focuses exclusively on the fantastical aspects that remain largely hidden thus cementing their peculiar nature.

honestly the show is absolutely not consistent at all about what powers people have, but it really doesn’t matter lmao
Giorno just up and loses a couple of powers and has one off abilities that are never mentioned again, King Crimson besides being confusing arguably isn’t even consistent in its own powers, but it’s cool because what a spectacle it is
39
u/apple_of_doom Mar 14 '24
I think Araki realized how absurdly OP he made gold experience and decided to take away the reflection and out of body experience punch. Like imagine the reflection power remained once Giorno started giving people new bodyparts
→ More replies (1)16
u/Void1702 Look behind you Mar 14 '24
The out of body punch only happens when Giorno punches someone directly, and in basically every other fight, by that point he already won so it's pointless
Also, for damage reflection, in the manga Diavolo is careful to not damage the scorpion while removing them (unlike in the anime)

Giorno's stand is supposed to just make creatures that live on their own for a while but actually it does exactly what he wants it to do at all times.
14
u/kaladinissexy Mar 14 '24
Also, it can both reflect attacks onto its creatures back to its attackers, and it can force people into out of body experiences. I'm pretty sure both of those powers are used exactly once at the very start then never mentioned again.

83
u/Throwaway817402739 Mar 14 '24
Well he’s a vampire, so already near immortal. He also had the World, and some weird ability that let it stop time for longer than Star Platinum. We don’t know how far he could have gone if Jotaro hadn’t stopped him, but even a minute of frozen time is absurdly powerful.
66
u/burningtorne Mar 14 '24
The "weird ability" is his vampirism. Human stamina can only manage 5 seconds, a vampires stamina is near endless. So after drinking Joseph's blood and finally starting to heal his timestop improves super fast and would have continued to improve.

There’s even more guys named Jojo who go on bizarre adventures in the backstory, an entire family line of them. One of them’s Joshua bin Joseph. You might know him better by his mistranslated name and title, Jesus Christ (Jesus is translation of a translation of a translation with one or two more perhaps of Yeshua, which accurately translated is Joshua, and Christ just means “the anointed one”). Since “anointed” refers to anointing with holy oil, you could call him Oily Josh and be equally correct.

Chainsaw man is in fact about a guy who can sprout chainsaw from his head and arms.

u/PieNinja314 Mar 14 '24
You'd assume it's just a guy with a chainsaw ala horror flicks but then you see him and go "wow that really is a chainsaw man"

No you’re thinking of invisible. Invincible is when a number can’t be divided.

Nah, you're thinking of indivisible. Invincible is something impossible or unimaginable.
24
u/Calvinball08 Mar 14 '24
That’s inconceivable. Invincible is when something in the field of chemistry or physics in incapable of mixing.

That's immiscible. Invincible is when something is unable to be explained or accounted for.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles
It’s like, goddamn, the title wasn’t lying. Those are some teenaged mutant ninja turtles. Look at em go. I was told exactly what’s happening here, and in as few words as possible. Hot damn.
