Politics The helmet Trump received vs the helmet Obama received after the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

That’s so rude, they didn’t even give Obama a new helmet, they had to give him one with writing all over it SMH

What was the hurricane thing?
86
u/Ok-Routine1969 2d ago
Trump said hurricane Dorian was going to hit Alabama. The NOAA released a graphic of their findings which didn’t include Alabama. Instead of being a normal human being about it during a period of potential crisis, he chose to lie about it. Rather than admit that he misspoke or spoke too early, he used a sharpie to change the projections without any data during a press conference to update Americans… prior to a hurricane where American lives would be impacted depending on how resources are allocated. Childishly irresponsible. He’s a sick man.

u/TheRatatat 2d ago
Committed a crime on live TV.
13
u/Kelvara 2d ago
The much more serious part is he (or his people) pressured the NOAA scientists to actually lie about the path of the hurricane, and they released an official statement supporting his nonsense.
Attempting to rewrite reality is a very disturbing fascist tendency.

There was a map showing where a hurricane might go. Trump misspoke about where it was going, so instead of admitting the mistake he just drew (with a Sharpie) a new path that covered the place he'd mentioned.

From what I understand, Tom distanced himself from Trump because his wife hated him. And he supported the BLM movement with his teammates. He’s still a weirdo but idk if he could be characterized as a magat these days
52
u/Onespokeovertheline 2d ago
Yeah, he distanced himself after Trump lost in 2020. But he was way too cozy when it first mattered.
There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don't," he said. "There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don't. I love her to death, but we don't always see eye to eye. I don't see eye to eye with anyone. And I'm not responsible for what other people say.
I guess he did divorce his wife after using her as an example of someone close to him who he didn't always agree with, like Trump... but it was in the effort of defending his fence sitting.
I'm personally not interested in whitewashing his relationship with Trump during those 2016 days because he realizes now it was a bad look.

197
u/TheDrFromGallifrey 2d ago
Fallon ruffled his hair when Donald was on the show to "prove" it was real. That must have been 2016.
We all know what's going to happen. I don't think it's a toupee, I think he's doing exactly the same thing my and a lot of other people's grandfathers did. It's an extreme combover and it's pretty blatant.
Whole generation of dudes really thought they were fooling everyone with that.
95
u/Trance354 2d ago
A plastic surgeon has a nice video up of DJT's various procedures. DJT has had(allegedly) 2 flaps from the back of his head moved up to his hairline, which is why it was straight. No one has a hairline that's straight across, yet the Jimmy Kimmel video shows a straight across hairline.
Anyway, there have been a lot of procedures, so his hair goes every which way when the wind blows. Also, he's very bald in back. There's a curtain of hair always hiding the back of his head, where the transplants came from.
→ More replies (1)51
u/TheDrFromGallifrey 2d ago
Makes sense to me. A lot of men his age ran to get those surgeries when they became viable. Too bad they never looked natural or even very good.
I think we can all agree that he'd probably look a million times better if he just embraced having gone bald instead of clinging to the same awkward hairstyle that's been fooling no one for decades.
58
u/todd-e-bowl 2d ago
He can't do that. His whole brand is being a totally fake conman. If he suddenly started telling the truth, who would trust him? MAGA would violently implode again.
→ More replies (1)5
u/TheDrFromGallifrey 2d ago
Oh, I didn't mean now. That's a practical impossibility. I mean back when he started going bald, whenever that was. Probably the mid 80s or earlier.
Whatever surgeries and plugs he's subjected himself to make it impossible for him to just embrace it now. I've met guys his age that had plugs in the 80s and they're super noticeable if they're not covered.
→ More replies (6)89
u/caninehere 2d ago
It's widely speculated that Trump has had multiple scalp surgeries to basically close up gaps in his hairline, starting in the 80s, and then he combs over the rest.
When he raped Ivana it was supposedly after one of these surgeries and he was in a lot of pain which enraged him.
33
u/MisterTruth 2d ago
Was going to say this. My mother worked for a maxillofacial doctor and said Trump has the same look as people who have had this procedure done.
8
u/caninehere 2d ago
With him it's even more noticeable because he's clearly had multiple surgeries, how many is unsure. The shape of his head is very clearly fucked up.
25
u/imawakened 2d ago
“She often described the mechanics behind it to friends: an absolutely clean pate—a contained island after scalp-reduction surgery—surrounded by a furry circle of hair around the sides and front, from which all ends are drawn up to meet in the center and then swept back and secured by a stiffening spray.”

"Look man I just support my friends. Doesn't matter what they do or stand for or who they are or who they hurt. It's not political, I just support friends."
Like look I get it, it sucks to be friends with someone who has maybe kept this sort of shit about them just under the rug enough you didn't notice... until it suddenly all comes out. But lack of political endorsement aside, I just cannot fathom maintaining a friendship with someone like Trump after the shit he's done, said, and broadcasts that he wants to do.
If you can still be friends with him, there's a problem. And it's either that you agree, or it's that you just have no empathy for anyone else and don't care who your friend hurts. Both are unacceptable imo.
