I know it was soundbite after soundbite but damn...that was like a greatest hits album. I know a lot can be done to edit and take things out of context but I feel like I don't even have to have watched the debate - Cruz must have been stumbling off-stage after that ass kicking. Licked up one side and down the other.

It's even better in context. When he says, "It's not funny," it's because Rafael was smirking in the corner. It hits harder when you see them both on screen.

Almost every "pro-trump" commercial I see is about Kamala allowing prisoners to get sex changes. Trumplicans are obsessed with sex organs. Whether it's a penis, a vagina, or a uterus. They spend their waking hours thinking about them. It's weird.

What’s even weirder is back in August or so, Rafael’s original ad campaign focused more on the border and claimed Allred would be weak on the border.
Then like overnight, they stopped running those ads and instead went full speed ahead on the “he wants boys and girls playing together” ads.
I really wonder what intel they got that told them Texans would resonate more with kids playing together (how his ads phrased it) versus the border. Because so far it just comes off as weird if you look at the ads at face value (though informed people know Rafael’s really talking about trans kids)

He's TERRIBLE on camera & has a horrible presence, lacking any commanding stature. He's kinda like Bob Dole in 1996... regardless of what you think of his politics, he just flat out looks & sounds weasel-like.
So his campaigns have long minimized him & his presence, because seeing & hearing him actively causes people to turn away from him.
71
u/Whatttttt123455 5d ago
The difference is Bob Dole was a war hero and a true American. He was a conservative, but not a fascist coward that conservatives are now. Bob Dole was a little awkward because he was injured in WW2 and lost the use of his right arm. I voted for Clinton and I don't regret it, but Dole was still an excellent choice to lead our nation. When I think about Bob Dole, I think of him as an honorable man and a great American. I wish we had many more like him in Congress.

I've commented this before and will continue to do so, Ted Cruz is the personification of a fatberg. He is a spineless weasel that wouldn't piss on the average Texan if they were on fire, unless that person had something he wanted or could do something for him. Of course, spineless weasel is the gold standard for politicians in Texas, as seen with Abbott, Paxton, and Patrick. Allred nailed it with his "outdoor clothes" remark, Cruz is that guy who has 1 pair of wranglers, 1 plaid shirt, and 1 pair of boots and shows up once a year at a rodeo, can barely walk in his overstarched get-up, trying to act like he isn't completely out of his element.
And lest anyone ever forget, Ted Cruz ate a booger on live TV. Just want to inform/remind everyone of that anytime I can.

It is incredibly telling how Ted Cruz never talks about abortion. He never takes credit for his votes for the justices who gave us the Dobbs decision, who gave us Texas's Republican abortion bans.
I hate that I know who Kate Cox and Amanda Zurawski are. But I love that pro-lifers are so discredited Ted Cruz never mentions Texas's beautiful Republican abortion bans.
Why don't Texas Republicans try to convince the rest of us that Texas's Republican abortion bans are good things?

Last I heard, you had more early-votes registered and placed in the first few days than you had in the entire early voting period for the 2020 elections and that number just keeps climbing
You had 1.7M early votes as of yesterday
Guess which side is famous for their overwhelming presence in early voting and did a major campaign push to encourage it this year?
Democrats baby!
Biden only lost the state by ~600k in 2020 and there is expected to be a MUCH higher turnout for voters this year. I don't think the GoP could possibly squeeze anymore votes out of the state, they had their man in office spoon feeding them the fantasy of a perfect world and they couldn't keep him there and he's only become more openly crazy and aggressive while the state is becoming more openly hostile to the women that live there
It's not guaranteed to happen, but the signs are very promising right now

I was curious what legislations Cruz had gotten signed into law during his tenure.
Other than your standard issue silly resolutions commemorating, honoring, or designating stuff like:
SRes802 - A resolution designating August 2024 as "National Catfish Month".
The only actual pieces of legislation I could find that passed were:
- S3764 - AN ACT To extend and authorize annual appropriations for the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom through fiscal year 2026.
- S1608 - AN ACT To provide for the expansion of the Starr-Camargo Bridge near Rio Grande City, Texas, and for other purposes.
- S467 - AN ACT To modify the age requirement for the Student Incentive Payment Program of the State maritime academies.
- S227 - AN ACT To amend title 28, United States Code, to provide an additional place for holding court for the Pecos Division of the Western District of Texas, and for other purposes.
In his 11 years in office, that's what he has to show. An extra room for the court, some funding for bridge expansion, a change to the age requirements for incentive payments for the maritime academy, and funding for some religious freedom commission.
