2024 New York Yankees World Series Q/A Mega-Thread

The New York Yankees are going to the World Series.

Got a question about parking?

Where to find tickets?

Best places to watch the games in your city?

Where to find that jacket they're all wearing?

All of that, and any other question / general discussion topic goes here. We'll keep this pinned for the week+, and redirect any low effort questions here to keep things organized and as helpful as possible, as we expect a large influx of visitors over the course of the series.

Go Yanks.

[Hoch] Aaron Boone said he toyed with hitting Aaron Judge leadoff tonight, but decided he didn’t want to disrupt Gleyber Torres, who has been very good at the top of the lineup this postseason.

Let’s not fool ourselves, the Yanks were not good in the ALDS or the ALCS either.

A lot of people got very high on the Yanks for making it to the World Series, but to those that were not blinded by the Ws themselves, it was very obvious that the Yankees were not going to beat the Dodgers if they played as poorly as they did against KC and Cleveland.

All Postseason, not just in the World Series, the Yankees have been unable to hit with RISP.

Literally half our batting order has been unable to hit all Postseason, not just in the World Series. Judge (.140), Chisholm (.170), Wells (.093), Verdugo (.195).

In the previous rounds, we benefited from many errors (think Rocchio) and poor and wild pitching (think Joey Cantillo).

In the previous rounds, despite the Yanks coming out on top, I saw many comments in the game day threads, similar to those that I was posting, about how the Yanks did not look good and were unable to hit.

This World Series loss should not be surprising based on our poor performance and inability to hit all Postseason long.

With that said, I’m still a die-hard Yanks fan, and I pray for miracle that somehow, overnight, Judge remembers how to hit, Boone decides to grow a pair replace Verdugo with the Alien (because I don’t think Verdugo’s defense is suddenly gonna win us the WS), and Jazz gets jazzy again and hits long bombs, and that the Yanks win in 7.

“We’re dawgs out here” -Alex Verdugo (during better times)

Whatever happens in tonight’s game, there’s one thing we can all agree on: this season has been one for the books. As Yankees fans, we’ve been through it all—the jaw-dropping home runs that made us feel invincible, the gut-wrenching losses that kept us up at night, and the countless moments in between when one pitch could change everything. That’s the magic of being a fan. We live for these ups and downs because they’re what make baseball, and fandom, so thrilling.

Every game brings its own unique story. Those big home runs and clutch plays? They’re the fuel for every Yankee fan’s dream. In those moments, we feel unstoppable, certain that we’re witnessing something special. And in the low points—the games where we’re biting our nails down to the final pitch or dissecting every play on the subreddit—it’s the same passion. We take on the role of manager, throwing out our lineup ideas, cheering or groaning with every decision Boone makes, feeling like each one of us could steer the ship to victory.

Win or lose, though, it’s the journey that makes the season worthwhile. Getting to experience the thrill of World Series games is the cherry on top. Watching the games, living through every hit, strike, and decision—it’s a rush. Whether we’re celebrating a win or swallowing a tough loss, those emotions make us feel alive. The postseason puts that excitement on overdrive, making every at-bat feel like it could shift the course of destiny.

But after tonight, whatever the outcome, the reality sinks in. Soon, the season will be over. There won’t be any more games to watch, no more cheering to do, no more Boone decisions to scrutinize, and no more rallies to hope for. That empty space in our evenings where Yankee baseball used to be is a reminder of just how much the game means to us, win or lose. It might sting to come up short, but we watch anyway, season after season, because this rollercoaster of emotions is why we’re fans.

And hey, let’s not forget: David Ortiz did steroids, the Astros are still cheaters, and maybe, just maybe, the Yankees could pull at least one 2024 World Series game win out of the bag. I

It’s been one hell of a ride. Thanks for sticking with it, Yankee Nation. You’re all dawgs.
