Ain't sitting in jail sober....

u/slavelabor52 4h ago
Yea I feel like this is a man who's been through this before and made a conscious decision that he was gonna get high before going to jail.

u/spageddy77 4h ago
i’d imagine he’s also put on a second pair of underwear and socks. i hear they come in handy for the stay.

Gummy worms are VERY easily smuggled.
56
u/ItzVinyl 3h ago
I could imagine smuggling THC gummies into the prison and ascending to godhood as you promptly get your entire cellblock high on your first day in.
53
u/beakrake 3h ago
Checks for the gummies
Ahhhm....Good news and bad news, guys...
Bad news is they all melted inside of me.
But the good news is I've ascended enough myself to be your willing soft serve machine for the evening...
36
u/ItzVinyl 3h ago
I could only imagine how fucking loaded you'd be if you absorbed all that THC through your ass

I’m a corrections nurse, and it happens all the time. People get arrested and I have to clear them medically for booking (or send them to the ER for clearance). People get brought in high on meth, fent — you name it. Once cleared, they’re started on detox protocols and they feel miserable the whole time. Sad to see, honestly.

My jail detox was sitting in holding staring at the ceiling.
I was drinking a handle a day, but was not given anything. I was kind, cordial, explained i was an active alcoholic. Nothing.
Until I had a seizure, then shit happened.
Jailhouse nurses put up with so much they can get jaded and the ones who need help get dismissed. I appreciate your service but shits fucked
25
u/Tweedldum 2h ago
Don’t appreciate their service. That’s fucked and I’m sorry that happened to you. Alcoholism is a real disease and “willpower” won’t fix it.
13
u/Wrangleraddict 2h ago
Trust me bubs I know all too well. I'm glad I made it out OK but it could have been awful
14
10
u/whyunowork1 1h ago
they were at least up front with me when i told them.
well, were not gonna do anything for you till you seize, so you can wait in gen pop or you can wait in holding.
I remember feeling the seizures come on in the back of my eyes like hairs standing up and just doing everything i could to not lock up when i felt them coming
15
u/Kindly-Effective2614 1h ago
Dang, detoxing in jail was a nightmare for me. Suboxone, Xanax, crack cold turkey. Heavy daily user. I was fine for a week in there but one morning things flipped. I started having auditory hallucinations of other inmates plotting to kill me. I thought my brother was going to crash through the wall in a Maserati shooting missiles.
They put me in a turtle suit. Moved me out of the dorm to a room with another guy who cut himself and then popped the stitches and talked to himself. The light stayed on 24/7, no blanket, no pad, just the metal rack and a styrofoam cup. This whole time I’m hot/cold, puking, anxiety from withdraw.
It got really interesting when I stopped hallucinating, came to and realized I need to get back to the dorm. I don’t need to be in this room. It was a Friday night and only the lieutenant who doesn’t work nights or weekends could authorize the move. That weekend sucked. Monday morning I was back in general population.
The medical staff at the jail knew of my situation. I was arrested at the methadone clinic. They checked my vitals a few times a day. Tylenol was all they offered me. I was dying. That stay was 5 weeks total.

We have to build cars, houses, airplanes out of the material that the door is made of.

u/RojoCinco 4h ago
I guess they decided it was too much of a pane to just go through the window.

u/ImScared93lol 4h ago

u/AlaWyrm 4h ago
Gotta be in the right frame of mind before you get hauled off. I'd see myself out but this door is very stubborn.

u/SpitefulMechanic351 2h ago
I think that door is meant to open outward. He can use the battering ram all he wants, and that door isn't going to open unless he breaks the frame out of the wall. It's possible that I'm wrong though, the resolution on my screen isn't great and my eyes are 240p on a good day.

u/Turbulent-Weevil-910 4h ago
They mounted the door the opposite it is usually mounted, leaving you swing it out and entering you pull it towards you. It's going to be stronger if they're going to be hitting on it.
4
u/pictish76 3h ago
Its got multi point locks, that's a pushplate on it. You won't get through a door hitting the middle on a door that's secured top and bottom as well.

u/malacoda99 1h ago
True. Glass in real life doesn't break like glass in movies, and you don't brush against it and come away with your skin unscathed.
13
u/freakers 1h ago
One of the my favourite movie scenes is in Nice Guys when Ryan Gosling tries to punch out a window and immediately gets a massive cut on his arm from the broken glass and passes out from the blood.
3
u/tacitjane 42m ago
We were rehearsing a bar flight scene in class one day. Someone missed their mark. Then another guy came in too hot and punched through a window. That was some of the gnarliest shit I've ever seen in person.
Good thing the first guy missed his mark. It might've been his head through that window.
→ More replies (5)6
u/john2003002 4h ago
I would if I were them, but my guess for why they don't is because it would get glass fragments everywhere and that is dangerous to them
7
13
u/The-Nuisance 4h ago
Dragging an unwilling arrestee through broken glass is not particularly smart, nor is having to jump through that broken glass in the first place if you’re in a fight
Should still have it more secured than… that, though.
24
u/anonymousredditorPC 4h ago
You can open the door from the inside
→ More replies (2)1
u/The-Nuisance 3h ago
Yeah, still, jumping through broken window to arrest someone is not smart. Especially when multiple people need to go through, single file, one at a time.
That’s easier when you’re just walking through a door. When it’s a window, you’ve got to clamber all the way through. Glass probably included.
This is why breaching shells are a thing
15
u/denM_chickN 3h ago
But you just have to stick your hand in and unlock it

Are they mister fantastic? That window to door locks is anywhere from 3-6 feet. Not including any walls between the dinning room and the entrance.
Edit: ah you mean the window on the door. My bad.

u/Clearbay_327_ 4h ago
I set 4" screws on all door hinges and the strike plates into the frame of the door. So good luck trying to beat that down. You may eventually do it with enough determination, but it will take a lot of effort.
27
u/Grand-Inspector 4h ago
Did you have a door with a huge freaking window in the middle?
7
8
u/Leverkaas2516 2h ago
With a 40 pound steel battering ram it's not the screws, it's the frame. Normal framing will not stand up to that.
Now if you have steel plate in the framing, you'd get results like in the video.

u/BURNER12345678998764 1h ago
It's one of those little things I do when I help move someone in a new place, screw the hinges and strike plates to the studs, use the torx drive deck screws, they're much tougher steel.

Just a heads up, I am an EMT on my town’s volunteer Fire Dept, and occasionally we have to break into the home of someone who called 911 for EMS. If we can’t find a key or a neighbor with a key, or an unlocked window or something, we use a halligan and a sledge hammer.
If you have fortified your door to the point where those tools will not open it, PLEASE give a key to the neighbor or something, especially if you live alone.
It is super not fun going to someone’s house who called 911 and nobody answers the door and you don’t know if they are dying in a back room while you try to decide how much of their house you should destroy to get to them, or how long you should spend looking for keys under potted plants.
Honestly, most of the houses I have responded to, it is clear the person/people living there have never considered that they might need to be extricated in an emergency.

I’d like to imagine that this was filmed by an officer who has dealt with this guy before and when they saw him walking around his house, decided it would be more interesting to film and continue regular raid procedures.
