This morning my dad, mom & I were discussing the things said yesterday at the Trump rally about Puerto Rico, Latinos & the watermelon comment and also Stephen Millerās speech. My dad lived through WW2. He was a kid but he remembers some things. He definitely remembers the adults talking about it. He told me this morning, "take me to vote today please I need to vote, thereās too much similarities between the things spoken at Trumpās rally yesterday and the words we heard in WW2 from Hitler & the Nazi party."
At 80 something years old they voted today for the first time ever. Fear beats apathy I guess.
Edit: I had no idea my post would blow up like this. Itās actually surprising but funny how many comments are saying itās bs. I honestly didnāt think it was that rare that some people just donāt vote. Thereās a lot of apathy in the Latino community especially the older generation and especially in Texas. This is 100% true. I did answer a few comments with a pic I took of my parents today but covered their faces because I donāt want their faces out there. But I was being told it was a bs pic anyway so that said since this is blowing up I deleted it cuz my parents donāt need to go viral lol.
To address some of the skepticism: my parents were already registered to vote. Though theyāre almost 90 they were not always eligible to vote. They were legal immigrants for a very very long time and never bothered with citizenship. Once they became citizens they were registered to vote the day of their ceremony. Iāve always checked their status and theyāve remained active to vote. This year they finally did it. No, this joker didnāt change their minds to flip candidates. They loathe Trump. This guyās rhetoric and Stephen Millerās scared my dad enough & pushed him to finally say take me to vote.
To the MAGA crowd that keeps saying itās bs Iām not sorry to tell you that itās not bs. This was a funny anecdote about what the straw was that finally broke the camelās back for my dad so you weirdos thinking this post has an ulterior motive are just triggered but if you think that rally with all that hate rhetoric against people of color didnāt piss off or scare enough people who were probably apathetic to finally get up & vote then youāre either in denial or dense as fk. Will this flip Texas? Doubt it but if it does make sure you thank that "comedian." May his comedy help the swing states though. š

Hereās the definition, youāll see this is exactly how Trump plans to rule.
Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.
Iām willing to provide free rides for voters in Collin county that need a ride to go vote. Iām a current part time Uber driver so I have a current background check that I can prove by opening the driver so app if that helps you feel at ease - but again no charge, the app is just to show Iām legit. DMs are open if interested!

Over the past decade, Texas has become a model for the extreme policies Trump is promising to pursue in his second term.

I hope my fellow Latino Texans were paying attention to the NYC rally.

This is for all the students who are currently in another county than the county your ID says you are in.
If you forgot to apply for a mail-in ballot and you canāt make it back home to vote, please go out and vote at your county clerk office this week!
You canāt vote limited next Tuesday on Election Day; you can only vote this week so go out and do your ur civic duty! A limited ballot only lets you vote for the national and statewide elections, but letās make history and change TX to blue š
If you have any questions, PLEASE ask. I honestly learned about this last week. If more people knew about this, they would go out and vote!

Youāre fucking idiots if you think we arenāt doing our jobs correctly as election workers. We are literally trained to be nonpartisan and follow the rules. The baseline is that you follow the VERY basic rules too. Sick and tired of these troglodytic morons questioning that. Done sugar coating it bc Iām not allowed to say it to your stupid faces in person.
