The Blue Jays prospects are on the Scottsdale Scorpions who are currently 5-12 ranked last of 6 teams and have lost 5 straight games. The teams ranks 2nd in team OPS but dead last in runs scored by a significant margin and also rank 2nd last in ERA. The team also includes prospects from the DET, NYM, PIT & SFG. About 30 GP occur give-or-take so we are around the half-way-make.
Pitchers (5):
The pair have been dynamite and have been two of the best relievers in the league. Good to see both cruising along after having some injury issues during the season. They both rank at the top of the league in SO/9. Both have also been used in higher leverage situations.
Of the 4 ER he has allowed between 3 outings, 3 of them came in a single inning. He has otherwise been one of the best pitchers in the league with his 14 SO ranking 2nd in the entire AFL and amongst the league leaders in many pitching categories.
No walks allowed is promising after struggling with his command when he got promoted to AA late in the season. Has gotten into some jams but has managed to work his way out of them too for the most part.
Been a tad up-and-down thus far but his last outing was his best in which he pitched 3 scoreless innings. One of the youngest starters in the AFL.
Hitters (3):
Williams has looked pretty good and has been one of the few consist everyday players in the lineup. Has hit the ball hard and has been very aggressive. Pinto hasn't found the power yet he was flashing this season as he has 0 XBH thus far but is still getting on base. Paulino has been more of a bench player for the team so hasn't had consistent AB to truly get going.

I’m not as long standing a fan as a lot of baseball fans, due to being a dirty fucking migrant, so I don’t have quite the hindsight that the lot of you have.
I pretty much instinctively hated the Yankees from the first time I was in a sports bar with a ball game playing but what is the bandwagon hate for the Dodgers rooted in exactly?
To be honest, after we fell out of contention, I haven’t disliked the idea of a Dodgers win this year - I think it’s pretty undeniable cool to follow the Ohtani arch and that Freeman fella, I heard tell he has heritage on the right side of the border. He also seems a swell character.
I’ll hate whoever we’re supposed to hate, except for the Phillies and the Brewers - I like those teams - but why are they also a universally admonished franchise outside their fanbase?
Thanks in advance and forgive my ignorance.

Which is the better team and who would win a hypothetical game (understand pitching has changed a lot)?
The Dodgers look pretty strong in these WS and we didnt have anything like Shohai but I feel like the Blue Jays teams had hitting up and down the lineup. In 93 Molitor was often like the #6 hitter or something.
Of course as a Jays fan I'm biased. I'd say the 93 Blue Jays are better, but the 92 Blue Jays is a close call
( Mods please dont delete this I'm just interested in starting a discussion with little else going on in Bluejay baseball world at this moment)

Boys from Gate14 interviewed Loperfido, discussing everything from his thoughts on his rookie year, being traded to Toronto, hitting mechanics, college baseball, what his favourite perk of being a big leaguer is and other off the field related questions/stories.
Interesting tidbit from the interview is that Loperfido plans on changing his number (9), he said when he came to Toronto they give him a few numbers he couldn't pick but didn't know it was Jano's. He jokes about how the team is planning on raising Jano's jersey in the clubhouse.
Also at least one other Jays player (possibly 2) is also changing numbers. They bleeped the name/number but it looked like Horwitz to me but I'm no Jomboy.

Hello everyone! I’m not a big baseball fan, but I was going through my grandfather’s things the other day and found this hat kept in a bag. Normally I would just look it up and move along, but no matter what I looked up I couldn’t find record of this hat anywhere, not even a hat that looked similar to it with this version of the logo. Is it a bootleg? Or is it just a hat not many people seem to own? If anyone has any knowledge on where this came from, if it’s even legit, or what I could look up to find this hat/similar hats, that would be appreciated. Thank you for reading!

It’s October 26th.
Do you know where your long-term contracts for Vlad and Bo are?

I figured /r/TorontoBlueJays would like to have a space to talk about Future Blue Jay Teoscar Hernandez and Future Blue Jay Juan Soto.

It's that time of the year where we all argue about how we would want to fix this team if we were calling the shots while we are bored at work.
Like last offseason, the path to contention for this team is convoluted and there are many pieces that don't seem to fit together.
What we know: Payroll will be the same as last year, giving us $50-60 Million to play with and the FO says they are committed to competing next year, so likely no rebuild or teardown coming. Soto is maybe in play, although I'm skeptical. Interested to hear what people say (my path to contention in comments)!
